If Clinton (or Gore, for that matter) was our current president, would you support the Patriot Act in the same way you do now (with Bush as president).

My answer re: any support of the Patriot Act remains the same: no, and for that very reason.
My biggest fear re:gov't power is not George Bush, but rather an unforeseen "Man on a horse" who would abuse that power.
Never forget that Adolf Hitler was elected democratically, and that we almost had our own facist gov't here in America during the Great Depression.
Facists and communists had a lot of support here during that time.
Always take the long view of history, you can never predict the future.
I prefer the War on Terror to be fought externally, as opposed to being fought internally, like the War on Drugs.
