Heart attack in a sack! I love 'em especially when they are spicy. There are places around here that cook them while you wait.

Love 'em with a cold root beer. Don't even want to think about what they are made of. The smell in the bag tells you it ain't good!

On the contrary.....The saturated fats are cooked out. They are no worse than potatoe chips. And I love the spicy ones too.....

Actually less fat and cholesterol than most potato chips.

I still try to avoid them. Although I love them dearly.

They must fry them in that new diet lard where you get yours. The best ones that I have tasted were cooked in a kettle of hog lard at the flea market in Mont Eagle.

I watched the same Modern Marvels episode. I always thought rinds were made from intestines, no, they're made from pig skin. Still kinda gross. Wasn't paying that close attention when they said pig skin was used for gelatin used for jello of course and gummy bears. So the next time you eat a gummy bear you're eating pork fat!

i like the spicy ones

I watched MM too, and I had NO idea they were made that way. Makes me look at them different.

The footage of the raw skin made me rethink them. All I could think about was Ed Gein.

My buddy was raised on chicharrones - the mexican version that actually has meat on it.

He's gonna bring some in next shift. He says it makes the "ordinary" version we have seem like puffed air.

I used to like the crucnchy puffy mass produces ones you can buy in bags. I then experienced real ones. A friends Cuban grandmother makes the absolute best rinds ever. Not real puffy and chrunchy, but crisp yet smooth and a littel meaty with sme bacon like goodness about them. I cannot really describe it. They have to be experienced.

For me its worth the hour drive to Miami to get some.

One rule you learn when eating pork rinds, is ALWAYS have something to drink nearby.

Ever been eating them thinking "Hmm, this is good...really good...I'll have one more...then ACCCK!" you get that pork rind dry throat thing where you think you're gonna die unless you get a drink of water.
