I blew a .135 the only time I've been breathalyzed. Wasn't a DUI, it was at a physical early in the morning, I had been at a going-away party the night before and was still drunk. Thought the doc wouldn't notice

I have considered getting a portable breathalyzer as a party gag, but I reconsidered. I realized that all that it would become was a device that made everybody one up eachother until we all started passing out or had to start calling ambulances. I also don't party as much as I used to.

Ran a guy that went .497 defecient back in the 80's for another officer, and befor the test I tried to bet the cop that the guy wasn't drunk...... I swear I don't know how he did it.

Back in the late 70s, a company made a coin-operated breathalyzer for use in bars and restaurants. Test yourself before you leave and find out if you should drive or call a cab. Most bars didn't want them in their establishments out of fear that the machines would harm drink sales.

Of course, the opposite happened. Whenever I saw one, people would either ignore it altogether or use it like a video game, trying to get the highest score of the night.

I arrested a guy for Pub Intox that was passed out near a railroad track that had a BLOOD Alcohol of .579. He was still kicking and breathing. The only reason I even had it ran was because I figured that he would die. He was discharged from hospital the next day.

The highest driving DUI I have arrested was .473 and to beat it all he was not shitty drunk.

Both of these guys were career alcoholics if you haven't figured it out by now. I don't think there was a day in their adult life when they did not wake up .10 or higher.
Link Posted: 12/20/2005 3:43:22 AM EDT
.18 (the cops were testing me to see if I was OK to drive my friend's truck home (he was arrested for drunk in public). I am sure I have surpassed that mark many times.

Sort of hard to blow a number when you've never been stopped.

Frankly guys...call me an old fuddy-duddy, but this isn't something I'd be proud of.

You mistake maturity for pride.
Its one thing to man up and admit your mistakes andlearn from them, its another to brag about them.

Friend who's a retired cop had a customer blow mid .40's (and sounded sober as a judge)

Worst I've ever seen in print was a guy in Kittanning who tested .771 and lived

Your interpretation could be correct. Alas...the lack of details doesn't permit me the same assessment. Your probably right though...

Wholeheartedly agree. I also have never had the "pleasure" of being pulled over for drunk driving and I don't feel that driving while intoxicated earns you bragging rights. I have lost too many friends because of drunk driving.

.245, and I too still have nightmares of blue lights in the rear view mirror.

Link Posted: 12/20/2005 5:22:11 AM EDT
I blew a no color change on the street .

I picked up friends from a bar who were loaded. At a god damn checkpoint, a cop had some sort of sniffing flashligh that he shoved in the car to determine if there was alcohol in the car. I refused to take the field sobriety test because I dance for no one. However, I did blow through a glass capsule thing in which an indicator would turn colors if you were intoxicated. After which, I got an apology and a thank you for picking up my friends
Link Posted: 12/20/2005 5:28:00 AM EDT
Never took one. Got a DWI in 87, but refused the test.

Well, my blueberries and cherries werent in the rearview, the damned things were right in front of me blocking my car.

somewhere above .3

I am pretty sure that is when blackouts start.
Link Posted: 12/20/2005 5:59:32 AM EDT
.034...Dodged a Sobriety Checkpoint and was pulled over becuase of blown out license plate bulbs. Cop was not happy that I passed and told me if I did not get the bulbs fixed he would send me $125 ticket.

Never breathalized.

.63 after i used moonshine like mouth wash, not an accurate reading, but cool any way
Link Posted: 12/20/2005 6:08:35 AM EDT
i've never been tested. i offered to take a breathalizer test when a cop accused me of driving drunk, but he chose not to give me one for some reason i would have blown a 0.0 btw.

I delt with an old drunk that I had taken to the hospital that was still walking and taking. He had a .529 BAC. Staff at the hospital told me later that he had been in earlier in the week and was higher then.

I dont understand all the bragging going on here. If you have EVER driven drunk you are a world class asshole and in my book deserve to be shot on the spot.

How selfish can you be to endanger the lives of innocent people around you because you are either too stupid or too cheap to call a taxi-cab. Really what a bunch of morons.

And for the record I've been drunk a million times and I'm still not stupid enough to get behind the wheel of a car.

Wow,
So, is it any better to have 1 beer and drive, 2??? 1 beer away from being drunk?
I'm sure you've never had a buzz and driven before. I used to drive drunk, but I gave it up 5 years ago when I met my (now) wife. Am I proud of it, no not one bit, and I haven't done it in a number of years.
Let he without sin cast the first stone. Maybe in my book you deserve to be shot on the spot for being a 'holier than thou' ass!

I'd be blowing chunks in the analyzer and on the cop at these levels.

Never because I don't drink, therefore I don't drink and drive. I'm not boasting or trying to say I'm better than anyone here, but drunk driving is one thing that really pisses me off.

that's high enough to put you into a coma.

Ever notice how people think being drunk is funny?

somebody with a BAC like that must be a life long hardcore alky but people think it's all sort of amusing

Being arrested for drunk driving isn't the only way to get your breath tested. They make portable ones now that anyone can buy.
