Would you date a chick that was 46 if you were only 28?   Is 18 years older just too much
I really like her alot, but have been holding back because of the age difference.

Dude, you are asking guys who are on the net in the middle of the night. The resounding reply will be, do it and post pics. You never know when your next meal is coming.

Good point.  Though I'm not asking for help writing a love poem like the guy the other night was.

Well, she is very nice and very cute,  Divorced no children.  But I can't help but think in the long run the age would be a problem, should it ever amount to anything relationship wise.

DO IT.

The worst that can happen is that it does not work out.

Hit it like it's never been hit before.

ETA:  Dated a woman that was 25 years older than me.  I thought she was a lot younger,  it was a good 3 years.

If I thought it was going to be something long term I wouldn't. When you are 42 she'll be 60. Do you really want that? Do you want to have children? If you do she might not even be able to anymore. I know someone who is in her 30's and her husband is in his early 60's and he is starting to get health problems and slow down. They have been together for about 15 years. At the time she was very young and he was still a fit and energetic man in his 40's. Now it is catching up and the age difference isn't something that is easily glossed over as irrelevant.

When you are entering midlife she will be entering retirement age. It works for some people, but I'd be wary since I think you'll have to give a lot up, and as she ages I think you'll have difficult decisions to make that might be best avoided from the start.

I don't much see it as a problem now.   But theoretically if we were still together say in 15 years. Then I would be 43 and she would be 61.   Or 25 years  me 53  her 71.   Now that just seems a bit wierd.

Edited cause I f'd my math

Your sweating it dude!  That little voice that keeps coming up with reasons it wont work is your intuition.  Listen to it, its usually right.  Ill retract my former statement, and reply with something A LITTLE more responsible.  Call off the formalities, stay friends, and maybe youll get to keep the benifits for a while.

You wanna marry her or just ride her into the ground?

If you are talking marriage, you got to remember she lost her virginity when Jimmy Carter was president.  You will be changing her diapers in a few years and you wont have kids.  Does she have a daughter your age?

If you are talking a good time for a few months, she has experience, hopefully she has a job and money and is quite a bit more worldly that the average 24y/o girl.  It should be a good time for both of you.

WAYYYYYYYYY back when I was 19, I dated my 37y/o boss, she was hot and wicked fun in bed.  It was a blast.  It was kind of strange to buy her nearly 18y/o son VanHalen tickets in order to get him out of the house for the weekend.  If I wasn't tapping his mom we could have went to the concert and bagged some babes.

Although I have no experience dating older chicks, I would say do whatever you feel is right.

Keep it in the green band...

I figured you would get it, based on your screen name.  Never mind.

Look at it this way .

She was more then likely sexually active before you were born .
So if you don't mind tagging a woman that could be your mother .
Then by all means .... hit away

Don't worry. When you're 40, she'll still look good.

Yeah, I think it's the vagina that looks like a dried up liver sandwich that's giving him pause.

I am debateing a similiar scenario.  Other than the woman is only 12 years older than I.
I'm not sure about 18 years.  Would have to ask yourself what you are wanting to get out of this.

A friend of mine that I worked with did it. She was a divorcee, no kids, he was 22 and she was 40...
She died a week ago of cancer at 58 and they were still married. He is 40 now of course.  I guess he will move on after he gets over his loss and I guess he is still young enough to find another if he wants. They seemed to have a lot in common when they met up and they were together a long time..so it depends on the people involved.
