what no long arms?? thought about a mossberg 500 mounted in the trunk like the police carry. Once read an article that recommended carrying a old surplus bolt action 308 or 8mm.

Carry a baton or a cricket batunder your seat in your car, and its a weapon! Me, I have two folding Army shovels under each seat, so if my ute gets bogged, I and my psngr and dig out, or if the SHTF, in apinch, you can chop a man's head off with em. The Etool has always been a great weapon

I doubt that anyone here in the US keeps a Cricket bat under their seat (maybe a baseball bat). If someone did keep a cricket bat in their car, I doubt that it would be immediately recognized as a weapon though. G27

Wow what a collection of weapons! I like the shovel idea 1feral1. My father-in-law used to carry a small wooden baton under the seat and he told the officer that pulled him over it was a "fish bat" HEHE

dum asses. the car IS the weapon! PRNDL. Get a good tube bumper that is 6 inches wider than the car. 3'' minimum diameter.

Any LEO's out there. Can Pepper spray considered a weapon?
Link Posted: 8/3/2001 8:18:12 PM EDT
Got a cricket bat with your cricket gear in your car, its sporting eqpt. By itself under your seat, the bat is a weapon. Thats how the police see it here.

Wish I could carry in my car. Well, if it's in a case, and unloaded I guess I could, but what would be the point. I do have a tire iron under the seat. [smash]

Car guns are a bad idea: Car stolen, so is the gun. I keep a S&W M60 .357 on my person and just move the seatbelt and my jacket to make it easily accessible while driving. One of my friends has a 1,200 acre ranch right on the border in New Mexico. He keeps a FA CAR-15 in his rifle rack, an Uzi (FA) under the seat, a 1911 .45 in the glovebox, another 1911 .45 in a belt holster. The real kicker is what is in the truck bed. He bolted a 4 foot tall tubular steel mount in the bed of the truck, to which he mounts a M1917 .30 heavy machine gun. The immigrants coming across the border are most often pack mules for drug runners, and those drug runners have guns. They shoot at Bill and have made death threats, so whenever he gets the chance he goes out to the fenceline to give them a little suppressive fire. He's even had a few shootouts with Federales, because they get kick-backs to protect the smugglers.

Since I don't like leaving my guns in my truck, I only carry what I use as my carry gun. Used to be my Colt Mustang Pocketlite .380, but I retired it about 6 months ago. It was hard to find a replacement for the Colt and I wanted at least a 9mm that would fit in my jeans pocket. Kahr P-9 - 9mm, 7+1, 15.8 oz. [url] Today I bought a Kahr P-40 Covert - 40 S&W, 6+1, 16 oz. If I am traveling, I carry my Glock Model 22 with two extra high cap mags with +2 floor plates for a total of 52 rounds. Beretta 92 (Inox) in a Galco 'Concealable' or a GunRunner belt pack. The pack is a lot more comfortable to wear while driving long distances.

I usually keep about a half-dozen of my road rage victims arms in the trunk but with this Heat Wave we're having they're starting to smell to much[whacko]

What Guncrazy223 sez. Ohio Sucks. CCW passed both State House, and Senate years ago, and the last two governors vetoed it. Taft sez he's he's gonna veto it. The Cincinnati situation isn't helping. There have been 90(at last count) shootings since the riots, including a two year old boy. All but one have been black on black violence. Taft sez he wants to keep guns off the streets. I think he wants to keep law abiding citizens from hurting criminals. If I were allowed to keep an evil GUN in my car, it would be a my 1911 S.A with two extra clips, or one of my .357's and a couple of speedloaders. As it is right now, I can't legally carry a rubberband, and a handfull of paperclips to defend myself and my family.

Here in Illinois you can't carry a loaded gun in your vehicle. I guess so you won't make a spur of the moment decision to rob a bank or a gas station. But then, if you were going to do that you probably wouldn't care about the anti-gun laws would you? What kind of sense does that make?

I have a "Tahre Arn" thats tire iron for northerners. I have a small portable fire extinguisher in the console. It may buy someone a few seconds to get out of a burning car. Cars will go up in flames fast!!! I've seen it. Car Jackers can't see real well with CO2 dust or foam in the eyes either.

Toss up between a G26, G31 in .357 SIG or my P95. I prefer to carry the glocks, they conceal much better. I also don't feel undergunned with the G31. Sig-other carries a G26, Model 85 ultra-light, or soon a full size Kimber CDP. She has great taste in firearms! [:D] Now, if only I could shoot them too [:(]
