As far as my friends shooting ability, he scored a 98%. (I don't know if that means he can hit the bread 98% of the time but I'm sure the Pillsbury dough boy wouldn't wanna fuck with him!)

This guy is professional enough to shoot bread. Unless you've been there and done that STFU!

Dude a little know fact.. the ballistic skirting on the Abrams is in fact filled with a doughy bread substance. There is also panels in the turret that are filled too. Fat_McNasty 45E 87-91

By any chance were you in the 1st at Ft. Riley then?  I was there, same time frame.

It's a known fact that a 9 mm fired from a Glock will not pass thru a loaf of bread. On the other hand any round fired by a handgun designed by MB will penetrate several tons of bread and kill three bad guys on the other side.

Bread has divine and magically properties that prevent penetration by weapons.

This is why they are alwasy "breaking bread" in the Bible because it is well known a knife won't penetrate it.

It is slightly less well known that Jesus often called upon Teh Chuck! to roundhouse kick the bread, thus breaking it and also kicking all of the leavening out of it for passover.

Teh Chuck! referred to Jesus as "the only Guy tougher than me" and he admitted to 3rd century Christians that while both he and Christ could turn water into wine, Jesus' wine was "a much more pleasant vintage" than his own.

Well, according to the ISIOTISRM (I Saw It On The Internet Somewhere Rumor Mill), if you shoot a loaf of bread in one end, with a hollowpoint bullet, it will not penetrate through to the other end. If the bread it cut, it will travel even less distance as the slices act as baffles and slow down the travel even more after the hollowpoint is filled with bread and the consistency of the bread allows for rapid deceleration.  THE BREAD MUST BE FRESH. stale bread will just shatter into chunks. Hence the reason that body harmor is not made of bread, you'd be changing it every other day.

DEpends upon the size of the loaf.   The old saying was there was no portable arm which could shoot through a bale of cotton. I'd say that's still true, even against .50BMG.

I can't believe this was such an unknown fact to people on this board. All you have to do is watch almost any Hollywood movie. Take the convenience store scene in "Grosse Pointe Blank" Bread stopped many a bullet, however the Cheese Puffs were especially effective bullet stoppers. Bags of popcorn were ineffective, but the best bullet stopper was a Slurpee, cherry I think

O_P

If you are going to shoot a loaf of bread, please shoot a loaf of raw dough, too.  If you have to get frozen dough at the store to shoot, send me the bill, I'll gladly reimburse you.  [That would be a loaf or two, not a pickup load!]

Don't nobody start shootin' no pies, however!
