Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Any Krag-heads out there

I recently came into possesion of a model 1898 Krag.  It is a beauty but it has a problem.  I do not know that much about them, but it seems the follower is not working.  No matter if the gate is opened or closed the follower stays in the same spot.  So is it frozen, weak spring, or is there a trick I do not know?

Follower hung up on something?  Cosmoline stuck it in place maybe?
