A lot of people seem to be getting upset about torture.  What constitutes torture?  Is giving someone a drug to make the talk torture?  Any kind of shock or pain giving torture?  Keeping them in a dark box.  What?

Torture: Something that is needed to help save american lives.  If a few people get hurt saving american lives, no sweat off my sack.

See, that's the problem.
I got no issues with the methods we do now.
But...real, actual torture does not work.
All it does is make the torturee tell you what he thinks you want to hear.

Apparently, glaring at someone from across the room can now be considered torture.

In high school, I administrated a computer lab.  No one could crack my password, and I would lock the computer on that site with the speakers turned up so that the entire room was filled with it.  Their only recourse was to shut the computer off.

*Insert evil laugh*

Thats why you keep him around till after you verify the intel he or she has givin you.  The validity of the intel should be in direct proportion to the amount of pain received afterwards.

Torture is if I skin you alive with a set of channel locks.

Torture is being slowly roasted alive.

Torture is being stretched on the rack.

Torture is having your nuts shocked with a car battery.

Torture is being forced to read "The Family Circus" for days at a time.

Torture is having all of your fingernails ripped out with a pair of pliers.

Torture is being beaten unconcious and revived to be beaten some more.

Torture is being forced to listen to Roseanne's rendition of the "Star Spangeled Banner"

Torture is having your legs shattered with vises.

Torture is having your teeth pulled out one by one.

Torture is having to sit through an interview of Penny Marshall.

Torture is having your intestines slowly pulled out of your belly.

Torture is having your toes smashed with a hammer.

Torture is being forced to believe anything the DU says.

Torture is having your fingers cut off with a set of wire cutters.

Torture is being forced to spend 48 hours with Janine Garofalo and Al Franken in a 4x4 cell.

Torture is having your eyes seared with red hot irons.

Torture is having every bone in your arm broken repeatedly.

Torture is being forced to drink nothing but Coors Light for the rest of your life.

Torture is having your tongue cut out.

Torture is eternity with Susan Sarandon and a bullhorn.

Actually, except in cases of ticking-bomb-in-a-public-place, torture is bad juju. It should remain illegal --just like assassination-- but still be in in-extremis option.

I'd just bind Franken and stuff the pillow in his big mouthy. Janine? I'd find other things to keep her mouth too occupied to spount liberal drivel...

Unfortunately, the new de facto definition of torture will be anything that could be remotely considered "degrading" by some dyed-in-the-wool liberal douchebag.

Here are some of the things (not an all-inclusive list) that I would consider torture:

1. Having to turn in any of my assault weapons.
2. Having to give money to Democratic causes.
3. Having to refer to Hillary Clinton as Ms. President.
4. Having to witness Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton hold any type of political office.
5. Not ever being able to east steak again.
6. Having to watch a movie with George Clooney, Jane Fonda, Barbara Striesand, Alec Baldwin, Julia Roberts, Susan Sarandon, Tim Robbins, Richard Gere, Jeanine Garofalo, Roseanne Barr or Rosie O'Donnell in it.
7. Not being able to watch the Fox News Channel.
8. Having to watch Katie Couric do anything.
9. Having to drive a car that gets 50 mpg.
10. Having to listen to a speech made by John Kerry, Ted Kennedy, Nancy Pelosi, Joe Biden, Harry Reid, Chuck Shummer, Howard Dean or John Edwards.
11. Having to witness US military forces under UN control.
12. Having to move to a blue state, especially California, New York, or Massachusetts.
13. Having to live in a state that permits gay marriage.
