Friend of mine said he heard they were gonna do a remake along with a possibility of a new Dirty Dozen..

Anyone hear the same, I havent..
Link Posted: 12/17/2005 8:48:48 AM EDT
Well, that can't be good.
Link Posted: 12/17/2005 8:51:07 AM EDT
Has anybody had a new idea in Hollywood in 30 years.
Link Posted: 12/17/2005 8:52:06 AM EDT
Great. Another classic movie for them to fuck up.
Link Posted: 12/17/2005 8:52:30 AM EDT
It will suck, like most other recent remakes. (Charlie & the Chocolate factory comes to mind....)

Oh, and there is a movie forum
Link Posted: 12/17/2005 9:01:03 AM EDT
God I hope not.
Link Posted: 12/17/2005 9:03:43 AM EDT
Starring Eddie Murphy as Kelly. Or Will Smith. Or The Rock. or Queen Lateefa. Another failure.
Link Posted: 12/17/2005 9:10:56 AM EDT
Remake? It doesn't need a remake, it's perfect as is.
Link Posted: 12/17/2005 9:12:45 AM EDT
It's already been remade....

They called it THE THREE KINGS.....

No need to do it yet again......Besides, they'd just "F" it up more.....
Link Posted: 12/17/2005 9:27:46 AM EDT
I'm not entirely sure that Three Kings is considered a remake of KH. The one is as much a polictal commentary/action adventure, the other is as much comedy as anything else. The only similarity is 'war', 'gold', 'enemy'.

It's like saying that any movie involving 'gold' 'bank vaults' and 'car chases' is a remake of The Italian Job.

NTM

GREAT now they are gonna fuck up a classic, probably get some bald black dude to play the Sergeant, in the name of PC and all (irregardless of the historical inconsistency)
Link Posted: 12/17/2005 2:13:50 PM EDT
I see no reason to remake it. The only thing they should do is maybe find the lost deleted scene footage for a dvd release.

They don't need too.

Dumbasses will still fork over 25+ bucks for two tickets and popcorn. Why should they put effort into making an original screen play.

Kelly's Heros does NOT need to be remade.
Link Posted: 12/17/2005 3:40:04 PM EDT
Neither needs to be remade.
Link Posted: 12/17/2005 3:43:23 PM EDT
Kelly's Heroes had an all-White cast

NO WAY could they do that nowadays...
Link Posted: 12/17/2005 3:45:44 PM EDT
Leonardo DiCaprio and Ben Affleck gotta work, ya know.

I saw about 5 minutes of the remake of "Flight of the Phoenix" and it was awful compared to the original.
Link Posted: 12/17/2005 3:47:33 PM EDT
Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves man.
Link Posted: 12/17/2005 3:48:47 PM EDT
I thought that was what 3 kings was supposed to be.

Oh wait, that was a Kelly's Heroes RIPOFF.

Of course Hollywood would never consider that army units were still segregated during WWII. (Historical accuracy? What's that?)

Hollywood did a pretty good job on Gods and Generals. Credit where credit is due and all that.

Aside from that one movie... yeah, you're right.

Why can't you say something beautiful and positive for once. It's a mother beautiful bridge and it's going to be there!

Always with the negative waves.....

Drinking some wine, eating some cheese...

One of my all time favorite movies... could never be done again... nobody has the guts to do it right.

Dram out

They're beautiful people!

Why is it all of the best quotes from that movie are from oddball?

I've always gotten a kick outta them playing "I've been working on the railroad" as the shermans are leaving the newly sacked nazi train station.

Besides, I thought 3 Kings (with George "Thunb up his Ass" Clooney) was the re-make?
