We can search GD.

I just tried it and it said " Searching of General Discussion, Disabled".

And now I can't get onto to google here at work.

Pay for the membership and you can

ETA: this topic is a dupe... you would have known this if you had searched GD first.

Yup, you must be a team member to have access to the "search" function.

You can do like I always do. Tag a topic that you like so that you can find it later. Ohh, wait a second.......

Can also go with the subscribe option.

It works this way so that non-team members can constantly annoy team members by reposting the same stuff over and over again since they can't search.

I would think that opening GD to search for everyone... like the once-a-minute search... would cut down on the wasted posts and bandwidth. Of course, I don't have a say, 'cause I'm a cheapskate.

So until then, if it ain't in Active Topics, I'm posting! LOL

Use the search engine.

If you only need to search subject lines, e.g., you remember a particular keyword -- or even the original poster -- you can download the topic pages with a Perl script and then use "grep" to look at them all.

Or just bookmark the threads you think you might want to look back on.

You should've just tagged the thread and used the "my active topics" button.
