Best: Colt or FN Best Value: Bushy or RRA. |

Very few of the manufacturers actually forge their own components. Olympic and CMT/STAG are probably the only two AFAIK. The manufacturing process is much more than that, or the assembling itself. It is the testing, proofing and rejecting of the substandard components before assembly that makes Colt different from say, Bushmaster who only conducts random spots checks per their own admission, or RRA who does none at all. Yes, some manufacturers simply "assemble, box and ship" premanufactured parts with nothing more than a nominal, non-proofload test fire. Colt isn't one of those. Colt's proof marks, just like H&K's, actually mean every single unit was proofed/MPI tested/rockwell scale hardness tested before going to the customer. Not so with BFI. |

Olympic Arms. My vote cause it is what I have.
Alot of yall like to bash them BUT mine goes bang everytime I pull the trigger Thats all I ask of it |

+1 |

I voted Bushmaster since my AR has a bushy upper and lower. Elmer is Olympic Arms and I've had no problems with it, they seem identical except Elmer is funner
I don’t own either at the moment, but is there a noticeable difference in quality from LMT to Colt. (I have owned a colt in the past, my first AR actually)
I have a DPMS .308 that is pretty cool. Not having ever shot an Armalite or SR-25 I don’t really have much to compare it with. |
My Olympic was my first AR and still runs like a champ. Didn't name it though. |
My Olympic Arms studders like Elmer Fudd -- hence the name. |

Stag/CMT.
Break it down and the fact is that Colt makes the best production rifle per se, but since (from what I understand) Much of Colts mtl. comes from CMT/Stag, when you buy CMT/Stag, you get the Colt quality, with RRA price. Can't beat that with a stick. Chris |

Yeah, yeah, I know, but are they really BETTER? No matter how extensively you MP test a colt, it still has the wrong sized pin in the trigger. And Colt certainly isn't the only MFG to test parts. LMT, CMT, BravoCompany, etc..... Part of my problem is that when someone says 'AR manufacturer' to me, I never even think of A/B/C/R/O/etc........ A/B/R/O don't make a single upper I'd really want to own. My philosophy, that works so far in my limited experience: Colt/LMT/CMT uppers Any in-spec lower you can find (a lower is a lower is a lower, unless it's a colt, then it's an oddball) CMT stocks YMM(obviously)V |

Who makes the "best" AR-15, for ME personally?
Shit, that's EASY..... I make the BEST AR-15 DIY bruddah...... |

Frankenrifles RULE the world!

Only the individual buyer/user can decide that. In my opinion, yes they are. Everyone has different priorites, needs and desires from their rifle.
This is true, however LMT is the exception in that they proof all their products, CMT will only do it on request, on a limited basis, it's not their policy to do all their products, BCUSA is the same, it's not a blanket policy AFAIK. But they are to be commended for it, I would certainly have no hesitation with any of their products. And don't get me wrong, I own A Bushmaster, DPMS, CMT(Stag) and Oly rifle, they are all great rifles. But which one would I grab if all hell broke loose? The Colt, or any other rifle that had been properly proofed/tested. |

And THAT is all that matters! |

Voted for Other. Answer, IZHMASH www.izhmash.ru/eng/ |

I have been 110% satisfied with my Bushmaster. I don't think you can go wrong with BM, Colt, RRA, or Armalite. They all make a good quality product. I'm sure LMT and a few others are right up there too.
I didn't know they made AR15s... at least, they're not listed on their website. |

The poll just asked who makes the best.... |
but if you read my post more carefully i advise not to over think this and just pick one from the poll, its not hard to understand |

lol...yeah man! Thank GOD I didn't sell that during my recent "holy shit how am I gonna fill my oil tank crisis!" now if you'll excuse me, I have to go toss another log in the trash can - living room's getting cold |

Looks like Bushmaster is taking this poll for sure. Colts a close second.........so from our collective thoughts those 2 our the most popular within our "little" group here we call arfcom!!

Boy all you colt and bushy people don't know shit RRA RULES! Just messin around people. get your panties out of their wads.
Any of them Rule [As long as they have Colt BCGs, FCGs and Barrels]! |
I say dpms, have owned RRA, COLT, OLY AND DPMS. I have been very impressed with my dpms. I own quite a few colts and they are nice but just about equal to my dpms. In fact my dpms is nicer than my 6920's (upper and lower finish do not match) DPMS makes a fine product and at a very nice price, sadly I only own one rifle from dpms and plan to get rid of it as well.
