"Straight Edge" is kind of a militant, hard-core movement that pushes drug and alcohol-free living (but otherwise engaging in a hardcore punk/altera lifestyle). Often, you'll see these kids with big X's marked on the top of their hands in black marker, which comes from clubs and bars that allowed under-21 people in, but would mark their hands with an X so that they couldn't buy alcohol. -Troy |

That doesn't even come close to the worst I've seen - someone removed a ring of skin from around their arm - maybe the top 1/4 of skin and fat, to leave a recess of red scar tissue. It was truly fucking disturbing to see.

THis mutilation is wrong and the Govt needs to pass laws to save people from themselves. I suggest the gubbmint set up the "Self-mutilation enforcement guys" or S.M.E.G for short. They will arrest on sight anyone who is self mutilating. Then they can send in undercovers to find people with hidden stuff as well as entrap people who perform the stuff on others for money. But we'll take the compassionate conservative route. they will be sent to hospitals where the damage will be undone then we'll put in microchips under their skin to monitor their locations (strange thing is most of these people like this skin implant!? go figure?) Then we'll have a probation Dept. that will once a week check up on them to make sure they don't engage in this sort of behavior again. All we need is 20 billion as a start up fund. Oh but i propose this, anyone caught doing this will have all their property seized so the programme will eventually pay for itself and any extra go can to feed starving policemen in Alaska. What say you? Aye or nay? A.....................
