I know, I know, I am like a year late on this. But I never wanted to pay money and rent it. But it was on TV and I Tivo'ed it finally and saw it.

Wow. It was HORRIBLE. I was BORED outta my mind. I was looking for a lot of crap to at least work me up into a political frenzy, throwing things at the TV and writing death threats to Moore. Instead I wanted to curl up with the dog and take a nap.

First off - there were only a couple complete LIES that I saw in the film. The rest were a bunch of 1/2 truths or on sided facts. Mainly it was facts that were loosly associate.

Bush knows the Royal Saudis! The Bombers were Saudis! Bin Ladens Family is Saudi - ah - ah - see - see? See where I am going with this (no, not really Mike)

And then the last 1/2 of the movies theme seemed to be "Why are we over in Iraq? Boohoo!" The problem is, he doesnt ask anyone important! He just asks clueless goobers who ramble on about how they are confused. There are no FACTS to why we shouldnt still be in Iraq, he has some disgruntled soilders and a greiving mom saying they FEEL they shouldnt be there anymore.

I feel bad for the lady who lost her son - but - uh - how did he find her? The early shots were pre-the death of her son. Did he tape 50 people with the hopes that one would have a dead soilder in the family and want to go on camera?

And get the fuck off of Flint, MI already! We get it - the car companies pulled out and now its a huge shit hole. Sorry man - that happens some times. Why dont you donate your Twinkie budget for the yeaer and get them a rec center or something.

Finally - WHO are the IDIOTS who were SWAYED by this film? There was no SUBSTANCE! There was a lot of conjecture, disjointed facts, and people with FEELINGS, but nothing to sway an opinion one way or another (other than the movie sucked).

Heck - I had I know it was Soooo bad I would have encouraged others to see it - go see - that is ALL they got! They have to make things up and extort a greiving mom.

I have to say, I used to find Moore entertaning back in the Roger and Me days, and on TV Nation. Back then he made you think and was funny. Now hes a political shill who cant even make a decent fuckin movie.

Fahrenheit 9/11 was a movie that was not going to convert many people and it didn’t, it just reinforced the echo for those that wanted to believe that crap.

f911 was targeted mostly at blacks and poor people. story line was, bush starts war, economy sucks, young blacks have no job, join military become canon foder, oils and gas companies, particularly haliburton, profit.

it did its job. many black people and poor folks i have talked to think this story line is valid. and not just young black people, but middle and upper class professionals.

a true communist propaganda line and it does a bit more than play to the choir. it motivated people to vote against bush and other republicans. this was moore's goal. and his agenda as a socialist.

No it failed badly as a political tool… it worked well to make Moore very very rich.

Bush was not going to get those votes either way… There is NOTHING that shows Fahrenheit 9/11 changed any votes and plenty of evidence it did not… like an election in which the President increased his percentage and raw vote numbers.

The President won virtually every demographic group and most of those he did not win he increased his percentages. The polls show no real shift after the movie was released. So where is the evidence Fahrenheit 9/11 changed anybodies mind… it just ain’t there.

Fahrenheit 9/11 convinced very few with an open mind.

All Fahrenheit 9/11 did was make Michael Moore truckloads of money preaching to the choir… which is what Moore really cares most about.

This is just my opinion based on some people that I've talked to. Freinds and co-workers mostly. I think F9/11 was extremely effective as a political tool. I feel that it targeted not only minorities and poor people but it also targeted a lot of young white people between the ages of 17 and 30. These are people that don't know the first thing about politics, foreign policy or war but are eager to have a strong opinion about something relevent so they can feel smart. They are also at the age where think they have the whole world figured out. better than the rest of us. They haven't hit the age where you realize that you don't know shit and you had better start learning about things other than yourself. They are clueless, opinionated, loudmouthed idiots and there is a LOT of them. The good thing is they are lazy and fickle. Many of the people I talked to that were so hyped up about this movie didn't even bother to go out and vote. Overall I think the movie was effective in swaying popular opinion against Bush but thankfully it didn't equate to as many actual votes as Moore would have liked.

It was so effective they did not vote.

Ok so now explain how it was extremely effective as a political tool. For a political tool to be effective it has to have some actual EFFECT on politics… the evidence says there was no effect.

Bush's poll numbers were flat after the release of the movie… so explain again how it swayed popular opinion against Bush.

There is no measurable evidence Fahrenheit 9/11 changed even a small number of votes and probably just motivated the Presidents base thereby in fact backfiring and actually became a political liability.

Y'know what, it isn't his political views that bug me.
It's the fact that this crap gets passed off as documentary.
Oh, and what he did to Matt and Trey.

Trey seemed to be a willing accomplice in Bowling for Columbine. I'm sure MM used some selective editing to make it seem this way, but Trey did seem to be on MM's side. I don't know what MM did to Matt and Trey on F 9/11. Can you clue me in?
