Albert Owens: Age 26.
7-11 clerk shot in the back by Tookie Williams during a robbery, February 1979. Mr. Owens, father of two small children, was forced at gunpoint into a back storeroom, made to kneel on the floor, then Tookie shot him in the back at close range, execution style. Afterward, an accomplice-turned-informer said Williams boasted that he "blew some white guy away, shot him in the back"... all for $63.

Yen-I Yang: Age 76.
Taiwanese immigrant and owner of his family-run Brookhaven Motel, shot by Tookie Williams during a robbery, March 1979.

Tsai-Shai Chen Yang Age 63.
Wife of Yen-I Yang, murdered by Tookie Williams while robbing their family-owned motel.

Daughter of Yen-I Yang and Tsai-Shai Chen Yang, also murdered by Tookie Williams. She had just immigrated from Taiwan to join her parents in helping them with their motel business.

So where were the Hollywood stars and candlelight vigils for those victims????

Why did they ever allow weights to hardcore prisoners, anyway? It doesn't make any sense that
you'd give hardcore criminals an open opportunity to build up strength. Hell, I think it would be better
to force them into sufficient inactivity that their muscles atrophy to those of a weakling.

Or the old fashion way in the gas chamber would be nice. Lethal injection is less traumatic for those who witness the execution. It appears more humane, since the condemned just goes to sleep. It's also more efficient. But the gas chamber and the electric chair have those elements that justice has been done, since the person actually feels something as they die, even if only for a split second. Same goes for the gallows and firing squad. In the name of humanity, all have yielded or are yielding to the needle. I just find it ironic that they sterilize the area on the arm where they place the needle.
