I think some agencies are using them to catch riceburners racing now.   Dont know if that car is photochopped or not, but i have seen others in real life similar to that one.

I used to bac the same lightbar on my pov for the fire dept.  I eventually upgraded to the full sized whelen edge all LED because that thin one wasnt putting out enough light for my taste.  The new one i have does though

Also i will run the plate when i get to work tonight, and see if it comes back to a saab that the police own.

One thing that looks off is the shop number.  most police cars have a shop number on the back.  maybe its just obscured

I know they are no joke when it comes to being quick but don't PD's normally buy American brands? Maybe this was a seized car?

Maybe they bought it because no American automaker since AMC has had the fucking brains to build a car that can compete with the Subaru.

Bring back the Eagle wagon, damn it!

Not quite as cool as the Sub, but in AWD version should kick some ass. And it is 10x cooler than the eagle.

Haven't seen it around here, but that isn't saying much.  And yes, Aspen used (still uses?) Saabs.

The current CSP hot rod vehicles are Chevy Cameros.   Maybe the Subarus are in use around Boulder ( the Berkley of the Rockies).  Whenever I see a Subaru on the roads around here you can sure as hell bet there is a Bush/ Conservative bashing bumper sticker attatched to it's ass.  Damn hippies

Wolfpack,
click me for PD vehicles from the US.  As seen on this website, Colorado police departments(some of them) use Saabs, and Georgia  had a BMW, and Florida HP had a Volvo test car.

Hmm, must be kind of hard to 'heel-toe' in jackboots.

You should see what we got in S. FL. Undercover '03 Cobras, multiple black 03 Mach 1's, and some Steeda GT's.

Im not lying either, one of the black Mach 1's  actually tried to get me to race him so he could pull me over. I was in an Orange 04 Mach 1. Fucking asshole. I hate those kinda cops.

+1 on the Eagle.

There have been a few PDs who use Saab & Volvo cruisers.  And the motorcycle units that aren't Harley Davidsons tend to be Kawasakis with some BMWs also (both K bikes & twins).  Not sure if there's any Moto Guzzi PD bikes used in the USA but in the '70s they were popular.

That shit's been going on in VA for a looong time.  I remember getting busted for doing 80 (back when it was 55 EVERYWHERE) on I-95 somewhere around Quantico by a VASP trooper in a totaly unmarked Chevy Monte Carlo.  This was 1988.

The Lambo is a one-off, but it is a service unit, it doesn't just go to shows and schools.

One of the stated uses is if you need to get maybe donor organs from A to B quickly. That would probably do the job.

There is apparently a small (five?) number of Volvos in use with CHP in the mountainous areas in the East. Tahoe etc.

I guess it makes sense, the Scandanavians know a lot about driving in cold weather. Same with the Saabs. (Other areas use Saabs as well, not just Aspen)

That "L" on their license plate usually gets MY attention.

It could be a state building inspector, fire chief, state police, state attorney, etc.....

I usually proceed with caution when I see them, until I can identify the person driving.

From the guy who owns the car:

"Yeah, I took that photo in November 2003. The stickers were only on for five weeks. I know we don't have any STi vehicles, marked or otherwise. The closest is a trooper who bought one for his wife, and occasionally drives it, but he will never stop you in it, since it's not a patrol vehicle."

Local PD here has a Ford Ranger.  I laugh every time I see it, the Ranger I used to drive would have difficulty catching a bicycle rider.
