Swindle's solution to fixing America:

1) Secure the border. It doesn't do any good to throw illegals out if they keep coming back in. Although expensive, building a 12-ft. concrete wall with razor wire along the top and a machine gun nest with a sniper, gunner, and back-up man every thousand yards with searchlights, NVG, and communication with satellite and aerial recon would go a long way toward keeping illegals out. Obviously you couldn't force people to let you build the wall on private property; that's why you offer to let them never pay taxes on the land as long as they own the property in exchange for permission to build the wall along their property line and place the thousand yard outposts. Most people with land on the border would probably welcome the wall and the added security it provides regardless. All vehicles crossing at official border crossings will be searched. If you have illegals or drugs onboard, you're not coming into the country and we're calling the Federalis on your ass. We don't care if you're an American citizen; you smuggle shit into the country with you, you don't come back in.

2) Deport every illegal in the country. There's millions of them in our country; it shouldn't be difficult to find the majority of them since they're standing on every street corner, liquor store, construction site, and crackhouse in the country. Find them and deport them. If they get arrested for other crimes and it's later found that they're illegals, execute the murderers and rapists and deport the rest- to fucking Liberia. Have their photographs, fingerprints, DNA, and criminal record permanently on file prior to deporting or imprisoning all illegals. If they come back after you deported them the first time, they're taking the slow boat to Liberia. Let them fend for themselves and see how the psychotic tribal sociopaths in Africa like them.

3) Presidential decree abolishing the '86 machine gun ban, the import ban, the sporting purposes clause, etc. and dissolve the BATF, dividing its duties among the FBI, IRS, and any other agency that could handle duties previously bungled by the ATF.

The Second Amendment says that our rights to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. In case you can't understand that, it means the limit on the type and amount of weaponry you can own should be limited by your checkbook alone. And before some dumbass chimes in with "so does that mean everyone can own nukes, where do you stop it", answer me this: how many people can you name who can afford nukes. Now narrow that down to the number of people who would remotely WANT nukes. Then go away, the grownups are talking.

Banning guns will not affect criminals; it's just disarming the victims so the predators in society can have free reign. Screw that. If somebody tries to rape, kill, or rob me, I'm killing him before he gets me. Cry all you want about blood in the streets and people shooting each other over parking spaces. History has proven you wrong 100% and it's not going to suddenly change in the next five minutes because you say so. An armed society is a polite society; I'm not going to pull a gun on someone because they pissed me off- odds are good he has a gun too. It's so fricking simple; you don't want to get shot? Here's an idea: don't break into my house. You don't want to learn firsthand what "sucking chest wound" means, don't mug me or grab my daughter and pull her into a dark alley. You're just inviting trouble for yourself by being a criminal, a blight on society, and a total prick. Follow the law or you'll regret it. Assuming you live long enough.

CCW and open carry should be unlicensed and legal to all citizens. The only places where they should be forbidden are inside court rooms, prisons, and government buildings; in this case, armed guards should be as common as zits in high school and we don't need security risks. Post offices, banks, and schools, go for it. I'd rather you pulled a gun and saved my kids from being murdered by some whacko than be unarmed.

At 18, you are legally an adult, can buy a rifle or shotgun, vote for the president of the most powerful nation on earth and just about any other office in your national, state, and local governments, poison yourself with cigarettes, and join the military to handle automatic weapons, million dollar equipment, and fight at the discretion of your government. Heck, sometimes that last one is against your will. But you can't ruin your liver with alcohol, own a handgun, or carry said handgun until you're 21. That's stupid. If you're legally considered an adult, then you should be able to do everything adults do instead of being treated like you're a kid half the time.

4) National standardized school curriculums emphasising math, science, history, and literature. Sex education can be handled in science class when the kids actually hit puberty; I don't see why we need fricking public school teachers giving kindergarteners questionaires on how often they think about sex and homosexuality. Socialism and communism will be banned from schools; students will learn about them in history and political science and be told why they are evil, why they fail as social and political institutions, and why they are destroying the country.

Students who do well will be advanced at the fastest pace they can manage. Students who don't do well do so for two reasons: 1) they're lazy and don't put any effort into anything, or 2) they simply aren't as intelligent or versatile as the other students. In the first case, they should be strictly managed until they do better-than-average work. In the latter, they should be seperated from the others and put with other kids more their speed so they can actually learn something and become educated, productive members of society instead of being dragged along and promoted without ever learning anything.

Screw self-esteem; it's something you make, not something you're given. Screw respect; it's something you earn, not something buy. Why are schools teaching this touchy-feely crap anyway? The purpose of a school is to give people the education they need to be competent, productive members of society and to give them the advantage of knowledge so they can do things with their lives; not raise them. That's what parents are for.

The early Romans had an excellent form of nationalism: Duty, honor, country. Instill these into our students so that they respect themselves, respect others, and love their country, and America will be invincible for all time. It was the loss of this system that destroyed Rome.

5) Assimilation. Melting pot. United we stand. From many, one. Get rid of diversity. Get rid of multiculturalism. FUCK hyphenated Americans. I'm not Anglo-American, I'm AMERICAN. I don't even have any anglo in me, so quit assuming I do just because I'm mostly white, you PC fucktards. You're not African-American. You're AMERICAN. Unless you emigrated from Africa, you were never African and if you live in America as a citizen then you're STILL not African. You're not Asian-American. Just because you have yellowy-tan skin and epicatric folds on your eyes doesn't mean you're from Asia; your ancestors were. You're not Native American. Sure, your ancestors were here earlier than most of mine. Who gives a rat's ass. I was born and raised here and so was every member of my family for over two centuries. I think that qualifies us as being just as native American as you.

Put pressure on immigrants to assimilate into American culture. You want to live in America and enjoy all the benefits of being here? That's great, more power to you. You just have to be an AMERICAN to do it. You don't expect me to move to India and form a neighborhood where everyone speaks english exclusively, none of us bother to learn Indian, and we all insist on retaining our own culture instead of adapting to the one already present, do you? When in Rome, do as the Romans do. You wanna live in Greece, become a Greek. You wanna live in Ireland, become Irish. You want to live in Russia, become Russian. You wanna live in Japan, become Japanese. You wanna live in America, become AMERICAN.

6) Welfare and social programs are destroying our nation. Despite the tendency to automatically assume everything the left spouts is bullshit, they did get one thing right: follow Europe's example. Of course, the great thing is, we're intelligent enough to PICK THE RIGHT FRICKING COUNTRY'S EXAMPLE TO FOLLOW. In this case, the ones with limited welfare programs are the way to go.

Unemployed? Homeless? Got nine kids and no husband to help raise them? For six months we'll give you temporary housing and a welfare check to feed you while you look for a job. And you'd BETTER look for a job. It doesn't take six months to find SOME form of employment. If you haven't got a job by the end of the six month period, your ass gets thrown out on the street. Best of luck to you, feel free to apply for more welfare next year. Oh yeah, there's a six month period between welfare periods. So once you're cut off, you'd better find some form of income during the other half of the year where we're not supporting your lazy ass. You can apply for welfare again after that time period is up. If you are employed but don't make enough of an income to buy a place of your own, you can stay in temporary housing until you do. The moment you have enough income to rent an apartment, we're giving you a list of classifieds and throwing you out.

The government is not a charity. We're not paying taxes to support the lazy and amoral degenerates of our society. Welcome to Jamestown, now run by John Smith: you don't work, you don't eat. It's that simple. Do your part and everybody will try their best to help you stand on your own. Take advantage of our generosity and don't let the door hit your ass on your way out.

7) Fire just about everyone in national government and forbid them from running for office again. These people have ruining the country for decades. Let's just get rid of them and start over with a clean slate. Hopefully, this time we'll get some real people instead of the jokers we've put up with. Screw career politicians; this is a country BY the people, FOR the people. I don't want someone who spends their entire lives running mud-slinging campaigns and weaseling deals in smoke-filled rooms; I want Joe Schmo, the ordinary guy who understands what it is WE THE PEOPLE want. You know, the way it was intended and the way it was originally carried out.

Obviously this is more of a pipe dream than anything else since it would be near impossible to implement without ruining things, but it's definitely something to think about.

Well, it's a start. What do you guys think?

End the welfare state and the immigration problem will go away. End public schooling and the education problem will go away. Reduce government to performing only its proper functions of national defense, providing police forces, and running courts and bloated government will go away.

Update to add emphasis:

1) Personal responsibility, absolute morality, and respect for others should be a priority in raising our children. This does not mean that we should be PC and pussyfoot around to avoid hurting someone's feelings. If someone is offended, they can get over it. Lighten up, Francis; learn to live and be a good person, not some whiny bag of emotional turmoil and self-righteous hypocrisy.

2) The government is to serve the people, not the other way around. The government is to safeguard the people, not the other way around. The government is to serve the interests of the people, not its own interests.

Abolish the IRS completely and have a flat-tax rate for everyone...including all corporations. No more writeoffs-you are taxed on what you make.

I'd have to have a lot more in-depth knowledge before I could even begin to cover that.

Everybody list problems and potential solutions to them; I think after my stint in the military and my career teaching history I'd take a shot at the Presidency once I reach the right age. Hopefully the political climate will be right by the time I'm old enough to run.

Don't you have to be 35 to run for President?

If I were POTUS and had an agreeable congress these are the changes I would make.

A.) Set a national initive to be completely engery independent in 10 years, this would be accomplished by making nuclear power, hydrogen refineries, bio-deisel, and fusion power, and shale and tar sands oil extraction completely tax free. I would also mandate a national fuel formulation, and open oil exploration and extraction in the entire country, the California Coast, and Gulf of Mexico

B.) Abolish the tax system. The only tax is a 10% flat tax. It's simple, it's fair. Everyone is giving and equal share, there is no punishing the sucessfull. This is the only way that is equitable. Also without capital gains or bussiness taxes there will be even more motivation for investment.

C.) Balance the budget by disbanding the horribly inefficent and overly socialist social programs that overstep the bounds of the mandate of our government. With no more social security, medicare, medicad adnaseum there will be more then enough room in the coughers to balance the budget.

D.) Double the budgets of the national labs and NASA giving NASA the mandate to establish a permanent human presence on Mars and in the asteroid belt with an expanding presence.

E.) Make the individuals who work for companies who are working on in space or near space comerical ventures tax exempt. This will help promote investment in space and hopfully speed the industrialization of near space.

F.) I would mandate the Air Force to have the capabilites to acheive space control and launch on demand. Also I would start a crash program to develop a space based strike system based on either large rail guns or directed energy that would be deployed in orbit to allow zero lag time strikes against targets anywhere on the globe. Unit commanders in theater would only have to upload a set of GPS cordinates to the national strike system and they would receive instant support. This would also make the bomber obsolete and further widern the American technical and military supremacy. Also it would allow a definitve first strike option against our enemies nuclear assets without having to worry about retaliation.

G.) I would announce that the US was leaving the United Nations, that their globalist socialist agenda was countrary to the national identity of our country and a threat to our soveigntry. The UN building would then be converted to the new Museum of Arms and Armaments for the sake of irony.

H.) Remove the restrictions on civillian ownership of weapons so long as they pass a thorough backround check. I would also make basic military and weapons training a required part of the curiculum of the all public high schools.

I.) Mandate a reform in public school science and math requirements requiring a mastery of calc, phsyics, and chemistry upon graduation. The US education system is not producing nearly enough scientist or engineers. This must be corrected

After reading this thread, I'd like to make an addendum to number 7 on my list of ways to improve the US: Give every last one of them a swift kick in the ass on their way out.

I would also mandate a national fuel formulation, and open oil exploration and extraction in the entire country, the California Coast, and Gulf of Mexico Making the country independent of other countries resources would be awesome, but the expense and time spent doing so would be enormous. Large steps should be taken toward this, but it's not going to happen in our lifetimes or our children's lifetimes. I would like more nuclear power, with the provision that instead of burying toxic/radioactive waste on American soil we instead pay third world countries to go bury it on their turf. AFTER we've squeezed every last drop of potential usefulness out of the material. We can also put economic pressure on countries to give us what we need cheap; "give us oil for five bucks a barrel or we embargo your country for the next decade".

Again, I'm going to learn more about economics before I form an opinion on this one.

C.) Balance the budget by disbanding the horribly inefficent and overly socialist social programs that overstep the bounds of the mandate of our government. With no more social security, medicare, medicad adnaseum there will be more then enough room in the coughers to balance the budget. Already covered in my original proposal. Also, it's spelled coffers.

D.) Double the budgets of the national labs and NASA giving NASA the mandate to establish a permanent human presence on Mars and in the asteroid belt with an expanding presence. While I feel the space industry is important (it helped kill the Soviet Union, after all), I don't think it's necessary to put colonies on Mars just yet. Maybe Luna. It'd have to have a practical use to our nation instead of just "isn't this cool" in order for me to justify spending that much of the people's money.

E.) Make the individuals who work for companies who are working on in space or near space comerical ventures tax exempt. This will help promote investment in space and hopfully speed the industrialization of near space. And within five years, everyone will be working in aerospace engineering or have commercial concerns in the space industry.

We thought bombers and nukes would render our ground forces and combined arms approach obsolete too. Look how well that turned out when we couldn't even muster 14,000 troops for war in some shitty little country. Bombers won't be obsolete even with orbital weapons platforms.

Although the idea of "accidentally" vaporizing something with a laser death-ray satellite whose existence we keep denying does have some appeal.

G.) I would announce that the US was leaving the United Nations, that their globalist socialist agenda was countrary to the national identity of our country and a threat to our soveigntry. The UN building would then be converted to the new Museum of Arms and Armaments for the sake of irony. Leave the United Nations and turn the UN building into the only legal brothel in the United States. Not only would nobody notice the difference, but the UN could finally say it left something of lasting value upon the earth.

H.) Remove the restrictions on civillian ownership of weapons so long as they pass a thorough backround check. I would also make basic military and weapons training a required part of the curiculum of the all public high schools. Already covered in my original proposal, though I never mentioned my opinion that schools should have an NRA gun safety and education course as part of the mandatory curriculum.

I.) Mandate a reform in public school science and math requirements requiring a mastery of calc, phsyics, and chemistry upon graduation. The US education system is not producing nearly enough scientist or engineers. This must be corrected Again, already covered.

Can you wait until I do a revised version so it doesn't have as many holes in it and covers more concerns?

Also, e-mail the list of ways to destroy America to them first.

As long as you provide credit (name of author and link to source), as far as I'm concerned, if I post it on the internet it's pretty much public domain.

Your going to hurt the economy one way or another, either penalized for making money (bad) or discourage spending money (consumer spending is a good thing)

About the walls with guns and razor wire thing?

People tried it in Berlin, and it didn't work. Human desperation can go very far... and are the benefits of creating a virtually impenetrable wall worth the cost? Someone needs to find out roughly how much illegal cost/contribute to our country. They wouldn't be here if people weren't giving them jobs that pay $50 a day cleaning toilets instead of $5 a day farming dirt in Mexico

Worked pretty damn well in Berlin.

And a big difference is trying to keep people in vs keeping people out. And we could keep most of them out if we really wanted. That is in the world where americans still can kick ass vs gordon_freeman land.

I agree with going after those who employ them. 6 months minimum, 5years max for repeat offenses.

As for their great contribution, cough, cough, I couldn't give a shit less. Tell the fuckers to piss off and get out. Instead of giving them a free ride to go back and visit their families before they sneak back in, how about 90 days in a work camp. Building a fucking wall on the border.

We can use felons as a labor force to build the wall too. I don't think sitting in a prison and then getting out to do the same crap again is enough to pay their debt to society.

As for what illegals contribute to this nation:

increased crime rate, especially smuggling, kidnapping, rape, murder, and theft
the majority of gang members
most of the illegal drug trade
most of the illegal weapons trade (not so much a concern if I ever get in charge)
increased taxes to pay for their welfare, housing, and medical care
increased cost of health care and numerous hospitals shutting down from being overloaded by illegals who don't pay
increased inflation
refusal to assimilate, resulting in companies pandering to their large population making advertisements in spanish in a nation where the nearly all the citizens speak english
increase in safety risks and city spending from illegal apartments and cramming a dozen families in a single house
increased insurance from their tendency to drive drunk, cause fire hazards in their homes, etc.
increased fraud and indentity theft

Now, I'm sure there's something positive they bring to our nation. Oh yes, there is. Companies can hire one American for minimum wage or hire five illegals for the same price and not pay taxes, insurance, etc. on them because they're not documented. Go capitalism! w00t!

Not if we make them build it.

Clearly a wall, in and of itself, is not the answer but as part of a comprehensive strategy it would be an important addition. Not to mention the deterrent factor of working 90 days in the desert building a wall(IOW we don't want you as opposed to the current come on in strategy). Yeah, I am an evil bastard.

Beyond that, yeah end all entitlements for them. Hell, end them all period.
But how do you get around educating them, caring for them in ERs, hospitals(esp labor and delivery), etc, etc?

Educate them? Teach them what "my foot, your ass, there's the door" means in universal language. Health care? Unless it's a life threatening situation, their buddies in Mexico can care for them. If it is life threatening, they get arrested as soon as they can leave the hospital. Then they either pay up or get sent back home and the Mexican government gets the bill. If Mexico gets pissy about paying up, just ask them if they want another Zackary Taylor and make veiled hints about where you'd build your vacation home in occupied Mexico.
Link Posted: 12/7/2005 12:52:51 AM EDT
If they walk away from building the wall, will you let them walk away as long as they keep heading south?

Some good points overall and with some of the articles I read tonight, the guy renting a nasty mattress to an illegal for 50 bucks a week and the gps tracking car tax system, this thread is past due.

I don't know how it could be done, but if someone is allowed to walk on the sidewalk or drive a car and buy a gallon of gas I think they should be trusted to have their full rights back.

If a person is not to be trusted around kids or not to be allowed to buy a gun in a gun store I really wonder why they are even allowed out.

Overall, the government needs to become a not for profit enterprise to some extent. By that I mean so many of the people in big government seem to be doing it for power or money or influence or something along those lines.

To some extent I think we should save some of our natural resources while using up the resources of other places. At some point the value of our stuff should go up, of course you have to balance this out so that the other places are able to buy it from us as well.

I would love to see some of the red tape osha stuff gone so that it would not be so expensive to produce things in the USA.

That's something that's always bugged me: if they're such a threat that you have to constantly monitor them and warn everyone in their neighborhoods, why did you let them out of prison?

You forgot health care.
Place limits on malpractice lawsuits.
Change insurance from a co-pay system, to a % system, with a maximum deductible.

For example, 20%, up to a maximum of $200/person/year, or $4000/famliy/year.
This would force people to shop around for the best value in heathcare, but keep them from going bankrupt in a serious medical situation.
Another option, for low cost healthcare could include a $1500 deductible/year, then a percentage (like 20%, up to $5000/year) Again, the emphasis is on keeping someone from losing their home and savings over a large disease, but focusing healthcare costs on the patient, which will cause the price of healthcare to go down, because it will be fairly represented in a true capitalistic economy.

Damm good start, tag for continued reading

Yep, it's a start. But the real start is actually getting in a position to pull as much of this off as possible. We need a plan to get myself or someone with a similar plan in office.

I don't think it's possible to get such a presidential candidate in the Democratic party. Maybe Republican, maybe not. Third party almost never wins. Then again, the Republican party used to BE a third party. I think third party would be the way to go since we want to appeal to everyone who loves America and not alienate them because of the foolish fixation on party loyalties.

Where do we start? Governor of a state? Congressman? Representative? How do we get out candidate in any of those offices first?

So, what else needs fixing?

CCW and open carry should be unlicensed and legal to all citizens. The only places where they should be forbidden are inside court rooms, prisons, and government buildings;

I'd have to disagree with you on that one.

Even in a court room, when visiting a prison, or visiting a government building, I am still a Free Man with an Unalienable (God-given) right to bear arms.

No expections, except on private property.

sorry dude but the illegals gotta stay. Where do you think your food comes from? Are you going to go out and pick cabbage for below-minimum wage? I think not.

No, but there are Americans that will pick it if the wages are a little higher. Especially if we cut welfare to the bone.

Sure, food prices would go up, but it would be worth it to have a secure border.

I agree with you in principal, but at the time I wrote it I was considering the dangers of assassins, break-outs, hostages, etc. Now I'm ready to just say "Screw it, guns everywhere".

Yep. What's worth more to you, cabbage that costs fifty cents more than it does now (and the illegals aren't picking it anyway), or a bunch of people coming into the country to exploit it and you and get away with so many felonies it's incomprehensible?

Think a minute what you are saying.

Do the "guns" cause "assassins, break-outs, hostages"? Or do evil men, who carry guns in violation of the law anyway?

The answer is to kill evil men, not to restrict honest men.

No, I was more concerned with assassins getting free access to people or prisoners stealing guns from visitors or those visitors deliberately arming prisoners for a break-out.

I've already seen the light, so stop shining it at me already.

"The future's so bright I need sunglasses"?

At least with me in charge, that's true for gun owners.

Heck, I'll sponsor the program to take all the surplus military weapons that aren't being used anymore and sell them to civilians again!

The sooner everyone reads "The Redneck Manifesto", the better off we'll all be.
