My Camelbak from Lightfighter came in today!
More gear is on the way. At least I'll be dressed well. |
Here's the link to the original thread:
http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?id=28723#lastPost It's got more info. I'm with you Higear (Hank too after last weekend). With all the stuff I've bought from Lightfighter, I can at least look the part! All I need now is a red bandana and a shitty looking jade pendant & I'm ready. Oh yeah, some explosive broadheads, too. Anybody got any targets with Brian Denehey's (the sheriff)picture on them? |
So is it still just us four: Jolly Green & the three H's?
If its just going to be us four, this may work to our advantage. We can move fast and cover more ground and work on just what we want. Does anyone know who will be teaching the class? Aultman, Yaeger, both? |
not sure on the teacher- i believe it is at least aultman.
yeah, got myself a hydrastorm, rigger belt, and a eagle tac holster- just need my mag pouches, and i'll be set! too bad i wont really need my breacher's vest, but i'll probably bring it for sh!ts and giggles. should have my mossy by then for after hours fun... [}:D] and i agree with higear, we may be able to cover more with the smaller group. i have put an open invite out to the TFA email group, and i think there is an invite out at assaultweb, if not someone may want to put one out... peace, gang! |
Havoc and I discussed the small group thing over the weekend. We both agreed that it will be extra-special kick ass. I'm still trying to get more people in, for sure, but I'm gonna bring more ammo if it's just us 4!
I forgot to add my ghetto vernacular to the post. I'm a cracker-ass white boy so the best I can do is copy lyrics from "The Chronic".
...neva' let me slip, cause if I slip then I'm slippin', but if I got my nina then you know I'm straight trippin'. But I'm gonna continue to put rap down, put the mac down, and if your bitches talk sh!t, I'll have to put the smack down..... Anyway, if anyone's interested in some great training come join us. I promise we'll act right. [:D] |
whhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazzzzzup, gang?
sorry, havent been on the boards in about a week or so, but i do have a small update from mr. aultman, saw him yesterday at work (mine, not his). according to mr. aultman, the class has been open to the public, as they have it posted on their site. should also have some memphis LE attending, as well as some kentuck LE, who are supposedly bringing some fun toys to try out (mainly for them, i'm sure- but mama always taught ME to share...). class is still open to more attendees, so whoever wants to come needs to come on out. beaubeaux, emcken, etc- you people need to come on! its gonna be a hell of a lot of fun, and quite informative. i can't say enough about the OPS guys, so we are in for a real treat! until next time, just remember, none of these mark ass bustas is straight up in my face without a smack in tha face, so all y'all stop trippin'! or something... |
THE MAN!!!!
I hope they don't recognize me! After all these years... Hey, at least I won't be the worst shooter there! Who's bringing the donuts? [:P] Hey wait...I'm the man sometimes, too. Nevermind. |
Bringing it back to life...
If anyone is interested in attending, please email myself or one of the other posters on this thread... Or try OPS directly. C'mon, guys! Here's your chance to show us what you can really do with that tricked-out M4-gery. You can even wear all your issue and high-speed mall ninja gear... We won't even make fun (unless you cammy up your face, then anything goes [:D]) |
I won't be able to make this particular class but I have trained with Yeager and highly recommend him. He is an excellent instructor and will keep you "entertained."
QUIETSHOOTR- check out the OPS website http://www.optionsforpersonalsecurity.com for additional info- but you will need to send them a check or money order for half of the class ($150.00). let them know you want the tactical rifle class for the sept. 29-30.
you can email: hank: greentimber: mike aultman @ OPS: james yeager @ OPS: OPS mailing address (to send your check to): OPS PO Box 489 Sebring FL 33871-0489 |

back on up! hows the ammo purchase going? any news on anything?
Greentimber said he placed the order for the ammo... It should arrive this week.
Still waiting to get a confrimation of some sort. I will bombard OPS in FL 'til I get someone to call me back. Other than that... Got my SOE vest rigged, mags loaded, M4 cleaned, etc. Will probably hit the range next weekend just to make sure the irons and the Reflex are both zeroed. Gettin' excited now! |
Yeah, we're all getting excited now! Hell, I've been to a couple of rifle classes already and I'm still getting excited!
Went out yesterday and did a little equipment check. Put on all my gear I plan to use and did some transition drills and bump fired through 1 mag just to check reliability. Went through 4 mags altogether. Rifle worked fine, got so hot it was smoking. Guess the new extractor, extra strength spring and black insert work fine. This particular rifle shoots the South African stuff great, but Wolf is a no-no. Its a Frankengun with questional heritage on the barrel.(Any of you wippersnappers remember Nesard?) However my Bushmaster upper guns shoot all the Russian stuff great. Must be the chrome lined barrels that make the difference. OK, equipment check. What gear is everybody bringing? Here's my kit. 2 preban shorty AR's, both Aimpoint equipped. 1 postban Colt with Elcan just in case.(In case what I don't know.) All three with Giles slings. 19 USGI mags, 11 with Magpulls Berreta 92FS in a Safariland 6004 thigh rig, Berreta 96D Brigadier as backup. Bianchi Accumold pistol double mag pouch worn horizontally on the belt strong side. Blackhawk 5616PMBK AR/pistol mag thigh rig.(2 AR/2 pistol mags) 1 CQB Solutions Kydex AR mag holder on the belt, weak side.(This will be the primary reload mag holder. I'll reload from this one first as the kydex is really fast.) Blackhawk pistol retention lanyard. I don't know if this is really necessary but it looks really badass. Gun on a rope! HA! All this hanging on an Uncle Mike 2" duty belt. This rig has proved satisfactory so far. I also got a pair of Uncle Mike duty suspenders in case the belt alone was uncomfortable, but I don't think I'll need them. Vest? I don't need no stinking vest! We'll I think I don't but I'm bringing the Blackhawk 30VT03 just in case. I might wear it if its not too hot. And of course the Camelbak ThermoBak 2 liter. Hydrate or die.(Thanks Lightfighter.) I'm considering getting a dump pouch for empty mags. Any body else use one of these? This is my longest post ever. I must be really bored. Higear PS. Met Randy Weaver today at the gunshow in Memphis. Got his book. |
yeah, i have to get in and check my zero on the aimpoint and iron sights... zeroed to twenty five a few weeks ago, but may go ahead and go to fifty...
gear check: preban m4gery w/ 4 mags (damn i gotta get some more) SOE riggers belt, on which my walther p99 will reside in its eagle holster strong side two extra mags for the walther weak side SOE ar mag drop leg pouches camelaback (thanks again lightfighter... another order coming soon!) that should be it for actual class gear, course, i may have to bring the MAK and my 590a1, the breacher's vest, etc just for fun... my AR rig has gotten lighter, concentrating more on the shotgun for the load, trying to get a good balanced rig so i can haul all my gear and stay versatile with the weapons systems... |

4 MAGS!!!
Hank, my man, you gotta get with the program. Everybody who's anybody is a magaholic! C'mon man! haha.. I used to have the hook-up. Brand new M4 mags (out of wrapper) for $12 and change. I'll see if I can find the guy's info If you'd like. SOE drop leg M4 pouch. Never seen that. There goes the budget again. I'll be bringing My Bushy 11.5/5.5 preban, SGW 20" A1 preban, and probably the LEGP for shits and giggles. I might try a few drills with the AK while I'm at it. I don't want to have to stop to reload magazines any more than necessary to so I've got 32 mags loaded & ready. Hopefully that should get me through day one![:O][:O] I'll be carrying them in one of two rigs (unless I find some extra money and get the SOE I want). #1 is an Eagle Industries SF30 chest rig. Holds 12 mags and has 2 utility pouches. 8 of the mags in it have MAGPULS. Attached (I move it back and forth) is an Eagle SAS-DMP dump pouch. It works very well as a dump pouch and a general purpose utility pouch. TT also makes one but I haven't tried it. The pouch (on chest rig) can be seen here: http://www.geocities.com/yosemite/campground/4785/ghillie/DUMPPOUCH.HTML #2 is a USGI ETLBV POS with Eagle Recon Buttpack, Eagle Military-Style Utility Pouch, SOE one-quart swimmers canteen cover, and Buck Intrepid knife (until I can afford a Busse Badger Attack E). Yes, POS stands for piece of sh!t. What a charlie foxtrot. Below each rig will be my Eagle SAS MKIII w/G22. I've only got one spare pistol mag pouch right now so I'll move it back and forth If I change rigs. I also have an Eagle SAS 4-cell M4 mag pouch I might use. I'll probably bring the camelback MULE, HAWG, and maybe the Thermobak. Damn I accumulate alot of stuff. I've got both prebans I'll be using sighted in with the Santose IBZ (50 yds). This puts POI about 3" low at 20 yards. Not a big deal, though. When is the next gun show? |
havoc's equipment list:
SOE "Force" vest, with 6 onboard mags Eagle RBP Eagle Liqui-pack II KAC M4, Reflex equipped HK USP Tactical BlackHawk (*gasp*) drop-leg holster rig The rest of my mags and ammo, and associated details. For the camp-out, I'll also have my PVS-14 and PAQ-4C... You know, for bears and stuff [;)] havoc out. |
Hank: I've got several Orlite mags you're welcome to use for the class, if you'd like.
Havoc:
Do you know if SOE makes the Force in a lefty version? In other words, with the sides reversed- utility pocket on left panel & mags on right. I've got an idea. |
Hey Greentimber,
Where did you get that dump pouch? I can't find it on Eagle's web page. |
greentimber- dont know bout the SOE lefty vest (ask lightfighter)...
that SOE drop leg mag pouch is through lightfighter (www.lightfighter.com). he's a super cool guy and has treated me well so far... check himout if y'all get the chance. he said he was planning on coming out to the class, so there will be more great shite that we cant afford there! havoc- would appreciate the orlites if you dont mind... damn, this is going to be a hoot! cant wait! |
HG:
I got the dump pouch at a gunshow in January. They aren't on Eagle's website for some reason but Lightfighter has them in stock in black. He can order other colors as well. It is the SAS-DMP. Yep, Lightfighter is the man. Hopefully his foot will be squared away & he can make it to the class. I'm as exited as a kid on Christmas eve, only I've got three weeks to go. Oh well. I guess I'll go adjust my gear again. Maybe I'll go do some dry-fire & reloading drills. |
