hmm, might pick a pack up. would i be able to find a mount to stick that on my rifle?
currently diggin in closet for a spare set of scope rings, will tell you as soon as I find them. |
What section of Sam's were they in? Near the spotlights?
Have you tried out the lights yet? How do they compare to your other incans? |
I;m just a bastard. I like them cheap and expensive. |
yep, right next to a HUGE 10 million candlewatt lamp and some AA powered LED lights. They seem pretty decent so far. The push button on the end feels a little cheap but I also hate the push button on my Surefire G2 so take it for what that's worth. Been playing with one in the yard and comparing it to my other Lithium lights. Brightness is right their with them. But the beam is not as focused and seems to be more spread out at further distances. EPOCH |
Does the reflector have the orange peel textureof your G2? If not what is it? |
Yeah, same dimpled appearance, but not as smooth. Bigger dimples I guess you could say. |
Post some pics of the beam comparisons, I know you're bored enought to do it.
Ooooooooh, they're "tactical grade". You know they gotta be good if they're tactical.
lol i saw that too |

Thanks for taking the time for your evaluation and posting pictures. Gotta love that nice focused, white SF beam. |
Wow! Great photos! Thanks!
Interesting to see the different patterns. The SureFire (bottom) has a large bright area, with very little "fringe" so to speak. The Brinkman, center, has a very tight bright spot, but lots of "fringe" light. The Cyclops, top, seems to be almost exactly between the two. decent sized bright spot, but some "fringe" as well. I'm sure it's all about the reflector construction. Seems like a good enough value. Anyone checked on these at candlepowerforum? I haven't. |
For that price, I could live with a few of those in the console, glove box, nightstand, deer stand, etc, etc.....
I'll get some torrorow. sure they will be plenty good for car or tool box.
is it just me or does the cyclops look better than the brinkman?
+1 |
Better beam? Hardly. The spot does not look all that hot and it is shaped weird.
Nice spillbeam but not as good as the Brinkman or G2. Good for 10 bucks though. |

+3 It is "Tactical Grade" after all |

Did you manually set the exposure on the camera so that all three beam shots were taken at the same f-stop and shutter speed? If not, the auto exposure on the camera will do its best to make all three look the same brightness.
I did a side-by-side comparison with a Surefire Z2 with the 65 lumen lamp. The centers of the beams appeared equally bright, but the bright spot from the Surefire was significantly larger. Very significantly. Overall, the Surefire appeared to put out a lot more light.
But for only $10 per light, whaddaya expect? It's still quite bright, seems reasonably solid (although the batteries rattle a bit if you shake it, and it's o-ring sealed and submersible (I tested it in the sink). |
What's the deal on replacement bulbs? Generic or proprietary? Cheap or spendy?
Might not be too bad to have in my Jeep. That way if some lowlife breaks in I'm not out too much. Not like losing one of my 9p's. |
Of course I read this after just purchasing two more Surefires......
Thanks for the heads up ! I bought four of them . They work great, I carry one in my PDA pouch.
The most important question in this thread:
Is it made in china? |
Yes. They are probably what the Chinese will use when they invade us. Better buy them now so you can be on equal terms. |
I love the I do not own anything from China group. |
Hey, I keed !, I keed ! Don't lump me in there . I bought four. I better edit my post with a smiley. |
They also have an LED light that runs on 3 AAA batteries. $25 for the pair. Its not as bright, but still pretty good, and AAA is rechargable. Get some NiMH batteries for it, and the battery life is really good.
Its called the element. |
I don't know where they are from, but check the packaging.
BOYCOTT CHINA edit: oops, the anti- (and pro- ??) China forces have already chimed in. |
I wonder if they have the same durability as my awesome - upgraded no less (they were out of the regular ones) - übertactical CDNN freebie special that lasted one week.
That would be awsome if there were mounts for it, cheap tactical light.
Find out if they're 1" or what... I'd bet you could find a mount for one of those easily. Now is the bezel (and battery compartment) shock isolated? HMMM |
well i picked up a set.
i'm am impressed by the good quality ten doller light. |
I bought a pack og those a week ago. They work great, project a good beam, and you can't beat the price. So far it's better than my 4 d cell maglite.
I need a blub, one of the lights was turned or for about 5 min and bulb burned out. Any ideas where to get a bulb?
Oh that's not good. I was thinking about stopping at Sams and getting some, maybe not? |
You could exchange it for a surefire bulb. It is a copy of the P60, P61, P90, P91 bulb assembly. If you want to run th P90 P91 bulbs you will need rechargeable batteries. R123 Has anyoneseen the Luxeon lights they have there now? Runs on 3 AAA batts? |
