Was in Sam's Club tonight and found these little babies. Actually, they were $20.84 pre-tax.

Not sure about the quality, but they're aluminum bodies, decent construction, and are pretty bright.  Not quite the focused beam as compaired to my Surefire or even my el' cheapo Brinkman lithium, but for $10 a pop?  Now if Sam's would just sell CR123's

ETA: just noticed on the package... Tactical grade... I feel better already

What section of Sam's were they in? Near the spotlights?

Have you tried out the lights yet?  How do they compare to your other incans?

yep, right next to a HUGE 10 million candlewatt lamp and some AA powered LED lights.  They seem pretty decent so far.  The push button on the end feels a little cheap but I also hate the push button on my Surefire G2 so take it for what that's worth.

Been playing with one in the yard and comparing it to my other Lithium lights.  Brightness is right their with them.  But the beam is not as focused and seems to be more spread out at further distances.

Yeah, same dimpled appearance, but not as smooth.  Bigger dimples I guess you could say.

Wow! Great photos! Thanks!

Interesting to see the different patterns. The SureFire (bottom) has a large bright area, with very little "fringe" so to speak.

The Brinkman, center, has a very tight bright spot, but lots of "fringe" light.

The Cyclops, top, seems to be almost exactly between the two. decent sized bright spot, but some "fringe" as well. I'm sure it's all about the reflector construction. Seems like a good enough value.

Anyone checked on these at candlepowerforum? I haven't.

Better beam?  Hardly. The spot does not look all that hot and it is shaped weird.

Nice spillbeam but not as good as the Brinkman or G2.

Good for 10 bucks though.

Did you manually set the exposure on the camera so that all three beam shots were taken at the same f-stop and shutter speed?  If not, the auto exposure on the camera will do its best to make all three look the same brightness.

I did a side-by-side comparison with a Surefire Z2 with the 65 lumen lamp.  The centers of the beams appeared equally bright, but the bright spot from the Surefire was significantly larger.  Very significantly.  Overall, the Surefire appeared to put out a lot more light.

But for only $10 per light, whaddaya expect?  It's still quite bright, seems reasonably solid (although the batteries rattle a bit if you shake it, and it's o-ring sealed and submersible (I tested it in the sink).

Might not be too bad to have in my Jeep. That way if some lowlife breaks in I'm not out too much. Not like losing one of my 9p's.

Yes. They are probably what the Chinese will use when they invade us. Better buy them now so you can be on equal terms.

They also have an LED light that runs on 3 AAA batteries. $25 for the pair. Its not as bright, but still pretty good, and AAA is rechargable. Get some NiMH batteries for it, and the battery life is really good.

Its called the element.

Find out if they're 1" or what... I'd bet you could find a mount for one of those easily.

Now is the bezel (and battery compartment) shock isolated? HMMM

You could exchange it for a surefire bulb.  It is a copy of the P60, P61, P90, P91 bulb assembly.

If you want to run th P90 P91 bulbs you will need rechargeable batteries.  R123

Has anyoneseen the Luxeon lights they have there now?

Runs on 3 AAA batts?
