PayPal closed my account with out my knowledge on 10/29 due to my companies sales of firearms and parts and accessories.
With my paypal account being under '[email protected] 5 years was a pretty good run. They 'SEIZED' at total of $.18 which will cost them $.37 to mail me in 180 days. Jason's hit was considerably more. I am not a big believer in coincidence and do find it suspecious that two AR15.com dealers accounts were closed by Paypal on the same day. I would request that any dealer here on the board that have had their Paypal accounts limited or closed recently post in this thread. Hell, maybe it was coincidence or maybe the anti-gunners are surfing our site and turning dealers over to Paypal  I have planned for some time to discontinue Paypal as a method of payment on my site as they are anti-gun and I don't like to support the ememy but other projects have held my attention and I just hadn't gotten around to it. I was very thorough about emptying my account every day or two. The female I talked to was very arrogant about closing the account and seemed quite surpised when I told here to just keep the money in the account. She was not so smarty pants when she looked and found $.18 in it  I would like to thank Paypal for hastening their demise from my site. Denny Oh yeah! FUCK 'EM. Glad they are out of my life and business!!! Other dealers and individuals beware. They can grab customers $$$$ as well. I found that out from the Paypal rep I talked to today. |

I would sweep the account every couple of days. Generally never left over $1,000 in there.
I mainly kept it open after the Ebay acquisition for the convienience of guys who use Paypal as a means to hide their toy money from their significant others. Denny |

It would be nice if we as a site could move our business to another online pay middleman that is gun friendly. If we made an initiative of it it could gain momentum.

What is their deal? You were selling legal products and using Paypal as means to handle the transaction. I'm sure they don't cancel accounts of those selling dildos, porno DVDs, etc, etc.

 Rumor has it that Paypal was not started legitmately. Many of the people who were around when it first started said there were many fraudulent activities involved in building the company. They're rumored to be some huge flaming assholes too. |

Maybe it's time for AR15.com to start it's own "GUNPAY" service, which could be tied to the new ARMORY page (just like Ebay is tied to Paypal). I would gladly pay a fee for the service.

They tried to grab some moeny from me before. I hate using them but only do as bc its convenient for customers. I withdraw funds immediately after i receive them from a customer.

No, I have my own credit card processing and accept Visa, MC, Discover and Amex. I really only kept them as a convienence for customers and I think most of them used CC's thru Paypal. I predict 0 impact on sales. Denny |

Thanks for the offer but I have had my own merchant accounts for years. Paypal was just set up for customers that had funds stashed there I won't miss there 3.5% hit a bit. My CC discount fee is 1.64%. I never have charged customers for useing a CC or Paypal. Denny |

BTW, I sent the SHOT organizers (NSSF) an email regarding anti-gun Ebay being at SHOT. Imagine them never repsponding to me.

Same here, CavVet. I was not happy seeing Ebay at SHOT 2004. I loathed the idea of Ebay "encouraging" sporting goods sales on their site while fucking Paypal users. I have never, nor will I use Paypal. Fuck 'em. |

Oh yeah and it gets worse all the time. Just go to www.paypal.com and look at their policies. I took a calculated risk for customers convienience and was very careful about sweeping the account. Hence they netted $.18 which will cost them $.37 to mail me and they damn well better. Denny |

 The issue as I see it isnt with Paypal, when as a subsidiary they are getting their anti gun cues from and controlled straight from corporate Ebay.  imo, the heat needs to be put on people on our side of the fence. NSSF is who needs to hear from us for allowing Ebay within a mile of a pro gun venue. National Shooting Sports Foundation?? In bed with Ebay?  Thats priceless. |

Man, that sucks. Luckily for me I am not in any way dependent on Paypal for anything. With my own complete website and my own credit card merchant accounts I don't need the scumbags for shit. For me it was just an extra service for customers, an expensive one for me, but still a service for the customers. I am sorry to hear about the blow they dealt you. Until this little deal came up today I had no idea what shit bags they really are or I would NEVER have offered them as a payment option ever. I use a small mom and pop local bank ad notified them that if anything comes in to or from paypal to call me immediately and I will approve it or not. I can now take credit cards and have a merchant account, but after my deal with paypal, the fist bank that i got the merchant account dropped me 3 days after i opened it saying that i was violation of thier policies on guns... WTF
The company was PaymentTech. They are bastards also. I hate it when they probably are more accepting of people selling viagra or porno than they are on guns... I already Warned Grant at G&R... it is a matter of time before they fuck him also. |

I have my own merchant accounts with Visa, MC, Discover and AMEX and they actually want my business However I am learning just tonite by the post in this thread and the links I have followed how many they have hurt and sometimes put out of business. You are right, Paypal does need to be totally boycotted, gun business or any business. Evidently they do not just screw gun guys, they screw everyone. Real some of the stories in the links. I am amazed no one at Paypal has gone to the clink for some of the shit they pull. I knew I was violating their terms of service but they made up sucha small part of my sales I didn't care, but some businesses relied on them totally and were ruined and did nothing to deserve it. If I was aware of how they truly operated I would have never, ever used them at all. Also, all the businesses with booths should tell the SHOT people, it is either them or us... who do you want here? I would assume if there were 8 or 10 businesses cornering a SHOT official in front of the Ebay booth, telling them, "We want these a$$holes out of here now," it would happen.
