I presently own a .223 AR, a 9mm S&W 980, and .45 5" RIA G.I. 1911. I'm leaning towards the 9mm for the Storm due to cost of ammo. Am I wrong?

I had one in 9mm. The 9's have higher capacity and cheaper mags then the 40's and 45's. Plus if you use 147 grain ammo it sounds supressed.

Yeah, the 20 rnd magazine's a real advantage. I believe the largest capacity .45 mag is 8 rnds... I could be wrong on this, though.

I would get the 9mm I couldn't imagine owning a 40 or 45.

Sounds like my PC9...Heavy slugs=little noise. I had several people that were surprised it wasn't a 22 from the noise.

What are the biggest mags you can get for those, 15 rd?

I'm building out a 9mm AR right now. Can still get decently cheap 30rd UZI mags.

My understanding is that there is a 20 round mag for the 45 and bigger for the others.

None of them. I would not put my hard earned money on one CX4 in any caliber.

At the very I would say that comment is very subjective and general opinion would not concur with that statement. 147gr rounds from 9mm carbine are quieter than lighter rounds because they are sub sonic. I have shot 147gr 9mm rounds in both 16" and 11.5" 9mm carbines and while that round is quieter than 115gr, it does not sound suppressed.
