fattyM4,
Depends on what you want/expect out of the dog.
Both are wonderful breeds, and I spent about a
year trying to make the same decision. Both are
big, beautiful and always draw attention. The
Malamutes are 30-40 pounds bigger as adults.
The Huskies have a bigger selection in color
of coats and eyes. For me, the deciding factor
was temperment. I wanted the more child
friendly of the two. Both have awesome
temperments, but the Malamutes are a
more "protective" breed and are more likely
to "fend off" any trespassers. The Huskies are
more "socially accepting" and are although
they will alert you of a stragers presence,
they won't do much about it (except bark).
Since I have three other dogs, I wanted "a
lover, not a fighter". The dogs let me know
when something's up, and that's where "dad" and
the 2nd Ammendment come into play. I spoke to
a lot of owners and breeders, and decided that
a Husky was what I wanted. I will try to post
pics of Lobo and the rest of the dog
pound. If Beagles will post them for me I will send them to him (he'll like my beagle Zoe)
