No shit? I can't remember federal court here off the top of my head, but you can bet every oath taken in the county courthouse ends with "SHYG."

For those of you who think having the words "one nation under God" imply that you are taking an oath to the christian God,,,,,, get real. You are only pledging your faithfulness to the ideals and values of the United States. And for those who who think that the bill of rights has a clause in it that states that there be aseperation of church and state,,, re-read it . It states that there will be no state or government mandated religion.

This country was founded on a belief in God and the freedom to worship God however you see fit. If in fact you don't see fit to worship God then keep it to yourself as you are trying step all over my rights and everyone elses right to believe in and celebrate our beliefs in God. Don't like it Find another country. Don't like our language go back where you came from. This was a God fearing country before you got here it will be one when you leave, we spoke American english before you got here we'll be speaking it when you are gone. Don't like what I have written tough it is my right

I don't pledge to any flag or countries, as they can be subverted to not be what you're pledging to at the time.   My pledge is to freedom and liberty.

They can take the current pledge, with or without God in it, and shove it.

Whether or not it should be removed can be debated for many reasons and there are good reasons for and against.  But removing it because it is an unconstitutional establishment of religion is just wrong.   The SCOTUS, through precedent,  uses the following criteria when evaluating a claim of the establishment of religion:

1.  Is the activity's primary purpose one of religious affiliation?
2.  Is there a direct relationship to a specific diety or religion?
3.  Is the activity coerced or mandatory

I think we can all agree that the answer would be NO on each.

Since our elected representatives add the phrase 'Under God' to the pledge, let them remove it through the same legislative process they used to added it to the pledge.

Let's just see how fast that happens, instead of letting the courts decide.

I believe the phrase 'Under God' Should stay in the Pledge indefinately. Those of other religions dont have to mean the God of the bible when they say it or if they say it in private they can use the name of their own 'God.' Correct me if im wrong but isnt 'God' just a translation of words used earlier in history? I could kind of understand people getting pissed if it said one nation under Jesus, but 'God' is a very general term.

And if you dont believe in God then dont say that part of the pledge. its not that hard to do. And if that piece offends you then grow up and wipe the sand from your vagina. The world isnt shaped to fit your every little need and just because you dont believe in God or that statement makes your pussy hurt doesnt mean that others shouldnt be allowed the freedom of speech to respect their God in their pledge of allegiance.
