Holy crap!!...When you posted a few days ago about getting a new rifle, I had no clue it was a NIB 6600

Slabside = no forward assist

No, that's a slickside. Slabside refers to the receiver without the fence around the mag release.

Damn you guys! I need a slabside for my surplus airforce M16 clone! Which is a slickside but not a slabside, like it should be.

This is my evil rollstamp on my 6500 (and no, that's not the complete S/N):

6500 is just like yours except I have the A1 upper receiver and sights.  Barrel, pistol grip, etc., are all the A2 type.

I got mine second hand a few years back so I'm moderately jealous!  (You got a beautiful rifle - and I just wish mine had the A2 upper like yours)

Dan, I'm jealous as hell That was a great find.

I really like the rollmark too-mainly because it pisses off all the right people

I'm glad to hear that she's a sweet shooter, though I'd expect nothing less. Do you intend to keep it stock?

This one will stay all Stock..........No Hogue grip, No PRI Big Latch and No McFarland 1 piece gas ring

The 6600 looks good just the way it came from Colt

There's just something sexy about a full length A2.  Sure, she's not the head of the cheerleading squad.  She's not even a soccer chick.  At best she's one of the reasonably hot band girls.  On the upside, the good lookin' band girls look great without all kinds of aftermarket cosmetic upgrades applied to them.

...I was 9 y/o

I WISH I would have picked up an AR marked COLT when I HAD the chance!  Hell, I wish I had a Colt--period.  So, since I don't have one this is where I need to do the required Colt bashing:  Ha, your rifle doesn't have mil-spec pivot pins...it...it...well...but my Bushmaster was used by HSLD guys....and...plus... .  Damn, it didn't help.  I still want a COLT.

Hee!  I'd love to have one as old as SP3199, but alas, I was just practicing with The Gimp and it came out pretty well.

I've never seen someone handle a virgin so gently as I did dpmmn that day.

He just took her in his hands, slowly inserted a fresh round (match grade) and worked her trigger like a pro!  She really performed, too!

(Deej wonders why he clicks on threads that have suggestive titles....)

Anyway, nice gun dpmmn!

Abandoning the "virgin" metaphors: Who can go 17 years without shooting a great rifle like that?

Geez, I feel horrible if I go a few weeks without testing a new toy!
