Also if it is gonna be a sear host you would need to refinished after the SBR conversion in any case.

Yeah that's why one of the cheaper ones would be fine.  It would be overhauled anyways as part of the SBR conversion.  What has the condition been like on the cheaper ones you've seen?

Kinda rough inside and out.

So, is the 93 the same as a 94 but with a larger mag well?  At some later day, could you use this as a host for an auto sear?

ETA... thanks for putting up with all these dumb questions and the links

93 is .223 and 94 is 9mm.

rough meaning needs to be refinished, a nick and scratch here and there?  Or rough too the extent that many parts would need to be replaced, along with a refinish to make it look good?

I saw some that are gonna need some new internals and a shitload of barrel wear.

Basically it is the difference between buying one in NRA Fair to Good or one in NRA Very Good to Excellent.

I bought a like-new HK94A3 for $600 in 1985...

... and got rid of it for about the same in 1986.

These prices absolutely blow my mind!  I mean, I understand that these are good prices today, and why that is, but they still blow my mind...
