Do made for TV movies count?

You might enjoy "Uprising".

Much better pro-RKBA movie (and at least it's based on a factual event).

NZ has stood by the US for a century, and especially so in the last four.  By all means slag him off, but dont insult my FUCKING country!!!

Yeah, I know.   Before you know it, emotions start running high and the ARFCOM frenzy will begin. Pretty soon this one asshat from NZ becomes the spokeman representing not only NZ, but the entire South Pacific.

Don't get me wrong, thie passion is what makes ARFCOM so enjoyable, and sometime kind of offensive.

Anyhow, Cheers to you Paul

You Know....If the movie Dr. Strangelove came out today...Half this board would claim that it was Pro-commie and that Stanley Kubrick was the biggest anti-gun, anti-war and anti-military bastard since Michael Moore.

About half of you would go see it, then come back and recommend that no one else go see it, because Peter Sellers, George C. Scott, and Slim  Pickens were hollywood lefties.

Then someone would post long diatribes requesting that box-o-truth.com do tests on Coke machine change boxes with M-1 Carbine's, to prove the factual firearms error of the movie.

Then they'd want anybody who thought Dr. Strangelove was funny...drug to the pit for AR15.com political re-education.

It would be anouther Grand Example of the small group of Ultra Right Wing AR15.com thought police laying down the politically correct party line for the rest of us.

I love Dr. Strangelove.  One of the best movies .....ever. But a lot of us understand satire.

The US dominates the high end of arms sales, which drives up our numbers. It doesn't take very many F-16 sales to make up for a lot of AK-47 sales. Besides, the AK is very widely copied because the commie rooskies didn't nail down the intellectual property rights.

It's too simple to blame the gun, Vinterberg believes. "Guns have come to be a symbol of evil, but that's confused things a little bit," he says. "Neither the gun itself nor the gun-holder is evil. The thing we have to look at is this: The moment fear, greed or pride steps into the picture, then people start firing away."

This is used in many RKBA aruguments. The article is decidedly anti-gun but I am supprised this quote was included.

That guy is an asshole.  I especially like the part where he admitts that he is selling the tanks he used in his movie to Libya right after spouting off his bullshit about how Americans need to be disarmed.  HE'S NOT EVEN A FUCKING AMERICAN.  FUCK HIM, SOMEBODY NEEDS TO TELL THAT COCK-SUCKER TO WORRY ABOUT HIS OWN FUCKING COUNTRY.

I wonder if anybody has told that asshole about the 100's of millions of people that were murdered by their own governments in the 20th century, more then died in combat.  I would love to have an argument with that fucker and then at the end say "That's why I am an American and you are not, because I believe in and understand freedom, so why don't you go home and fuck up your own country."

I want to find out how many people in the 20th century died in gas chambers and ovens as opposed to from gunfire.  That would really hammer the point home wouldn't it.

"In a way, my film is a how-to about becoming an arms dealer," Niccol says. "During the making of it, I needed guns in the Czech Republic, and it was cheaper to use real guns than replicas. I bought 3,000 Kalashnikovs and then sold them back at a loss. I wouldn't make a very good arms dealer."

He couldn't afford to destroy them because he had such a small budget, but he says, "In South Africa, we did cut some guns in half to stop them from getting into circulation.

Niccol hopes "Lord of War" opens audiences' eyes. "We begin the movie showing the life span of a bullet, from manufacture to entering the head of an African child," he says.
"Nine out of 10 war victims die from a gun."

No shit shirlock...

These people will get none of my money...

There's no reason to get worked up over two pieces of fiction.  It's the same thing we tell out kids.  "It's just a movie, it's not real"  If the director wants to live in a fantasy and think he's making a true political statement and we're all listening, let him.
Most people I know live in the real world, and can tell the difference between reality and fantasy.  The ones that don't, won't get let out for movies so fuck em.

edit: I forgot to add.. Farewell to the King, Rough Riders, and Flight of the Intruder.

John Milius is on the NRA's Board of Directors.  I'd say he's pro-gun.

Q.   Are Suppressors legal in New Zealand? You mean that I can buy one straight across the counter by producing my New Zealand Firearms Licence?
A.  Yes

You still need to prove you own a firearm apparently.
