You are right, The Jewish laws of Sniut (Modesty) are not like the Islamic laws at all. They just require a woman to dress as a woman (No mans clothing) and to cover at least to the knees and elbows. Married women will cover their hair. A nice Skirt and sweeter would do the trick. In all honesty because many married observant Jewish women where a wig to cover their hair, not a one of you would even know they were observant Jews if you saw them out in public.

In Generation Kill there was a small story about Iraqi men trying to hand off the young boys they were having sex with. The soldiers said that the weren't interested because they like women, and the Iraqi men said women are for cooking and having kids, boys are for fun. Or somehting like that.

When I was in the 8th grade we had a student from Iran. They came to this country after the Shah fled because they wouldn't not have been popular with the Shiites who took over.

Anyway before they left Iran the family had a problem.

Seems their daughter of about 17 had been secretly meeting men (mostly US servicemen and workers) and having sex with them. The family gathered to decide on the best course of action.

Now the girl I went to school with was mad at her family for killing her older sister. BUT she was also mad at her older sister for FORCING her family to kill her.

Dunno if that's the deal in Iraq, but IIRC that's the deal in Afghanistan.  Boy-touching had a long and varied history there before the Taliban tried to put a stop to it.

Another reason to dislike that whole region and the people there.

When I was at Kandahar, our COLTs (Combat Observation and Lasing Teams - forward deployed artillery observers) were on the perimeter, with some local Afghan military forces.  The Afghanis offered the guys quite a bit of cash, some AK's, and an RPG for the use of one of the blond-haired, blue-eyed Privates First Class for awhile.  The guys did turn them down, but they sure harrassed that PFC for the rest of the time they were there.

Afghanis do follow the principle of "women are for procreation, boys are for pleasure".
