Are you living where you work or working where you live? I have done both. RIght now, this is home (until I move).

So does CT! everything is for the poor here!
Houses getting built up everywhere and farmers all selling their land because they can't get a tax break! Gun laws suck here too. Loaded with Democraps.

Unlike most NY'ers, i cant complain
I live on LI , paid next to nothing for my apartment in a highrise on the beach. I own a decent business, have a CCW thats good everywhere but NYC, and have plenty of legal firepower. That said im upwardly mobile, and can liquidate pretty quick if it turns to shit, and put a trailer on a lot i bought in Pine Island,FL and be pretty happy |
I hate IL. I hope to end up in Texas here in a couple years (so long as the Mexican border doesn't creep up north any more than it has).
I'm sorry I'm originally from Del Rio, but moved to San Antonio. It's the dream destination of many border brats who are so sheltered they don't know anything else that's out there, and well, SA's pretty much Del Rio x30. For now I'm dealing with it. Come graduation I'll be looking for work in Austin (preferably), Houston and Dallas. |
Yep... Missouri isn't too bad, or at least where I am isn't too bad... yet.
I am in pittsburgh.
I hate winter I want to move to Fort myers, FL, or Naples, FL I thought Berkeley would be nice too. |
W. Montana and N. Idaho are great, but heres the rub. Any area thats big enough to have any decent jobs, is already too big w/ too many liberals. Montana is where Id hang my hat, if I could solve the job equation. |
Transplanted from Crooklyn, NYC
MN is a paradise, living in a small town and the winters are not bad at all. |
I live in VA, in the Washington DC metro area working for the govt. The area is just choked with people and I'd love to live somewhere rural, but that'll have to wait till retirement (15 years at least.) I'm thinking Montana someplace, I really liked Rapid City South Dakota. Was ther a whole week and didn't hear a horn honk or sit in traffic. It was grand!
I am from Montana. Know why you can't get a blow job in other states?? All the cocksuckers are moving here. I love our way of life, like being able to shoot off the porch at my uncles ranch. And if I get caught doing 85 in a 75 mph zone I can write MHP a check for $20.00 go on my happy way and not have any points on my license.
yes, happy where we live, nce weather, all 4 seasons which is nice, decent economy for people that want to work, gun laws could be better, but over all we'll be staying.

If you ever get the chance to drive through Charlotte, NC without stopping, do it.
The Mayor is a Republican poser. The City Counsel is full of uiltra-liberal Democrats. The good ole boy network is alive and well and hidden behind the banks. The Sheriff won't sign for class three stuff. Taxes are among the highest in the southeast. There's no money for schools, libraries, police, etc., but they found $121 Million to try and attract the NASCAR museum. Road repair work takes years to do the same work Michigan (my previous state of residence) completes in two months. Run in any direction. |
Beside NO right now, what isn't paradise compared to Newark? NC is OK, heaven compared to where I came from (NJ). However, the US of Texas would be a top choice for me. |
Not happy with the liberal pukes in Annapolis and the gun laws.
Where would I want to go? Wyoming or possibly Arizona, Nevada or Utah. I still have to work so that's an issue. When I retire though...... |
No hurrincane, no floods, no earthquacks, no mudslides, no brush fires or volcanoes, no poisonious snakes, no tsunamies, great hunting, fishing, winter sports and awesome off road trailsystems, 4 seasons...
....Outside of Detroit, Michigan rocks. The more outside you go the more it rocks. |
I live in the DFW area in Texas. It's hot, humid, a lot of pollution, and there's too many illegals. I wanna move up north, like Colorado, or Wisconsin where there's actually seasons, instead of 10 months of HOT weather, and 2 months of slightly cool weather. It f*&$ing sucks here! I like cold weather damn it!
Moved from NH to WI in 1992 looking for work (and hoping I wouldn't find any), been stuck here ever since. Can't move now, 2 boys in high school, but the work situation seems like it will be drying up and I may have to travel to get some work. Unfortunately the work looks like it will be down by the Gulf and not in the NorthEast where I want to be. Oh well, in 3 years my youngest will be out of school then maybe I can go back to my beloved NH.
Colorado, yes. But Wisconsin? I lived in Milwaukee for 6 years. Let me tell you, it's 7 months on shit sucking cold, snow, slush etc. Great source of food, though. If you call Winter and Summer the seasons, then you'll love it. |
Are you happy where you live?
NO---------Colo. I Would like to live in the upper Northwest or the upper North east |
Living in central Ct I get all four seasons. I could not immagine living year round in a place further north or south of where I am now . If I could get the finances/work thing worked out I wouldn't mind spending a month or more fishing and being a bum down in the Keys . (Jan/Feb ish)
Target rich environment. |
I like it here. I would not mind moving farther out into the country and get some land.
What don't you like about CO? I'm leaving this shit-hole Long Island, NY and heading out to Ft. Collins, CO. Long Island, NY SUCKS. Longest commute times in the nations, one of the highest costs of living in the nation, over crowding, HIGH HUMIDITY making the winters cold and the summers hot, big time terrorist target, and did I mention it's as HUMID as a bastard? Ohhh, and no CCW |
I'm out in the country so I'm good; but I'm giving some serious consideration to building a home farther away from the shitheads that are spilling out from the "population centers".
I can feel the "stupid" in the air. |
Everything shootemup said, plus it's HUMID! I can't wait to leave LI. |
i haved lived and visted almost al of the USA and a few foriegn shitholes.
i am where i plan to live until i die. |
I live in the 2nd most communist/socialist state in the union. I will move to N.H. as soon as I can.
Well, compared to LI, Colorado must be heaven. Leaving the NY/NJ area was the best thing I've ever done. Although SharkBait's would like to leave CO, I'm sure Long Island isn't on his short list of alternatives. |
Where are you looking to escape to? |
I'm happy here in Austin, Texas.
Other than the heat and the liberals, it's great!! |
Well, a step-up is certainly being sought after. How about Detroit? |
Move out to eastern oregon, its better out here |
Proud Buckeye here!
I live in a town that consists of approximately 10 houses, 2 churches and a cemetary. It's nice and quiet for the most part. Right now I'm listening to my neighbor hunt dove out back with his 20ga. I think I also hear one of his muzzleloaders. I'm not sure what he's up to with that. Sounds good, though! I've never been happier in my life. It beats California (I'm a free man, now!) and I live near my family. What a deal. |
Someplace warm. I have had it with winter. NO I WILL NOT MISS THE CHANGING OF THE SEASONS! Someplace with favorable gun laws (ie: they don't stomp on the Constitution). Lower cost of living than LI, which is just about anywhere else. Thinking about Arizona, New Mexico. Still looking. You? |

The wife and i would like to eventually move out west to a place with less local color. Right now we live in the poconos in her parents hillbilly town but its getting overrun by city folks from NYC and Philly. Its depressing, all the developements are killing the woods.
I remember when Bucks Country was in the boon-docks. It's nothing but a over-populated over priced shit-hole now. |
Fort Collins, CO over 300 sunny days/year I like to mountain bike, ski, motocross. It seems to fit me well. LOW LOW Humidity. Still affordable housing |
