OMG!! When will people learn that the American flag represents the freedom of the people and not the government.

From what I read here, you and I are a minority who feel this way.
As I see it the flag represents our country, our people, our freedom, and a few other things but our government?....not at all!
As a sign of protesting our goverment I can understand burning the Capitol building(with or without the legislators in it),I can understand picketing outside the legislators homes/offices.....but not burning the flag that represents our way of life!
Why is not being able to burn the flag an intrusion in my freedom of political speech, while today burning your draft card or paper money is not an infringement on my rights?
Yes,I know the paper money is govm.property, but is it Ok if they then pass a law that makes ALL AMERICAN FLAGS the property of the govn so you cannot burn it along with the SS card and the $ bills?
Remember the "artist" in Chicago a few years back who created the controversy of a crucifix in urine "artistic expression"?.Remember also that, to sign his exibit you had to step on the American flag ?
If burning the flag is OK,is stepping on it or wiping your arse with it protected also?
If freedom of expression means you can burn my flag,my trying to stop you from doing that should be protected also........since it is my freedom to protest against yours! [>:/]
