Looks like I have one of the worst commutes. On a good day mine is 2 1/2 or 3 hours round trip depending on traffic. Luckily I only work fourteen days a month.

Up to last October my communte consisted of catching an airplane Monday morning then flying back home Friday night.

Since then I've changed jobs and my commute is now a whopping 3.6 miles.

45 minutes, or about 37 miles one way.

At least I don't have to live on top of my neighbors and put up with city retards.

I'd kill for a 3 hour round trip in traffic. Read my earlier post.

... ~ 11-13 minutes either way

... Hopefully, if things go as planned, this will change before too long. I'm trying my best to retire from working for someone else before I hit 50

2.5 miles. Usually 8-10 minutes or so.

1:15, on train (subway) each way for me.

2.5*5*50=625 hours/year spent, 500 of which are inside a subway car. $500/yr in subway fare.

About 40 miles each way,  90 minutes to 2 hrs, includes a 30-45 minute ferry ride.

Getting about 16-17 mpg in my Pathfinder. So, $13-14 in gas, + $13 in ferry tolls.

I just measured it.

19 paces from my side of the bed to my office chair. 29 paces if I stop at the bath room on the way to the office.

Here is my office view:

From my bedroom I walk downstairs to the 4th bedroom that I converted to an office.  Its sweet.

Whenever I need a break from work I open my gun safe and fondle a few ARs.

exactly 2 miles from apartment to office. However if I buy a house (considering it in the near future) that will increase to at least 15 miles.

15 miles one way. Takes 30 mins. I get 35mpg in my 4 banger.

30-45 minutes of local driving per trip, so roughly 1-1.5 hours spent on the road.

About 5 seconds from my bedroom to my office. Sometimes I detour and head out the front foor first for a smoke. That brings it up to around 4 minutes.

If I actually go into the real office where everybody else is (almost never), it's 2hrs 15min, with most of it on the Ohio Turnpike (US-80). The tolls cost me $5.50 on top of what the gas runs me. I forget how many miles it is, but it ends up being a good 3/4 tank of gas round trip.

15-18 minutes, depending on traffic.  Pretty good for Houston.

I walk 15 mins, each way.

30 mins/day * 5 days per week * 48 weeks/year (I have 4 weeks vacation) = 120 hours per year spent commuting.

$0 for gas, insurance and maintenance (well, maybe a new pair of shoes every so often).

Stress:  $0, especially as I watch the long snake of traffic backed up on the Vine Street Expresway as I amble past.

15 minutes to job A or job B. Job C is about half an hour, but I only work there a few days a month part time and I usually go to that job from job A, so its not a full half hour.

124 miles round trip every day.

38mi one way

40min in the morning and 1.5hr average going home

With your $100k salary you also receive 401k, retirement and many other benefits.  I'd highly consider it.  Maybe look for a commuter bus or something.

I have about a 15min commute to work, but some days I'll drive 100 miles during the day.  I'm an estimator for an asphalt co. so I end up in every part of my metro area.  I do get to use company gas, and our mechanic does maint on my truck, and I found out last week I'll be getting a company truck so my vehical costs will be ZERO ZILCH NADA!!!!!!!

Up until 2 weeks ago it was 15 minutes. Then I got transferred.

Now it's 35 minutes minimum, and was 50 minutes once already. But I'm hoping to buy a new place in the next year so it would be probably 20 minutes and a lot less gas usage.

7 miles each way, through residential neighborhoods.  North Arlington to Crystal City.  About 15 minutes, depending on a couple of lights.

I drive 30 miles to my pick up point in town and catch a company van from there for another 35 miles.
Less than ideal but it's worked for eighteen years.
