Don't need to.

My frequent boating accidents keep my gun count down.

(If the S does ever HTF, take a trip down to Lake Hartwell, SC)

I have.   I've sold off quite a few of mine.  Just no reason to have em all.  They just sit around collecting dust.  Every now and then I would go out shooting, but not all that often.

I now have what I consider to be the "essentials".  I have a good handgun, a smaller backup handgun, a 12ga shotgun, and a nice, accurate hunting rifle that can drop anything in North America.  The only thing I need to complete my collection, is a battle rifle.  I plan on getting my AR next spring.

Lately I have come to the conclusion that I only need to concentrate on five calibers, 5.56, 7.62x51, .45ACP, .22LR, and .12 gauge.  I have adjusted my collection accordingly and I am in the process of further moving arms, ammo, and magazines out the door for cash or other items that I feel will be of assistance in future emergency situations.

I've mostly sold guns that were problematic, cheap M11/9, a semi MAC10, a M12/380, a Kimel AP9, something broke on them I fixed it or had it fixed and then offed them.

I did sell a Franchi Law 12 a while back after I took up skeet to help pay for a Beretta 303, the Franchi Law 12 wasn't suitable for skeet and I didnt have as much funds back then.  After 5 years of using the 303, I sold it help pay for a $2400 Beretta over/under.

I have done it to trade up when funds were low. Like Ruger p89 to help pay for H&K USPF.
I miss the Browning High Power I sold.  Lesson learned. If you really like the gun wait it out and save up a few more dollars and do not trade it in.

I have sold some and regretted it, and some I did not.
S&W 686, just a poor shooting gun, early run and just not "right"
Auto Ord .45 nuff said
6520 NIB, had a chance at a 308 navy tropy SA, and had another one so wash
SA "GI" 1911A1 good gun but replaced with a Colt 1991 for the same price
DPMS panther lower 1/12 Colt BBL upper. Actually miss that one.
Colt Trooper III, miss that one too.
SS Mini 14 [not ranch] not accurate at all but was reliable. Lack of decent aftermarket mags.
Will sell- SA SS Milspec, nice gun after set and polished extractor and such, less then 100 rounds but am just sticking with 1 brand now.

One's WONT sell, USGI 1911A1s, Navy Trophy, First AR, DSA FAL, Colt SAA, 9mm Colt AR, S-70 [new] WW1 Reissue.

Currently at 29.  I have sold a few and purchased a few over the last few years.  Most of what I have are milsurp bolt action rifles.  I do have too many of those and I may let some go as they become harder to get from the importers.  Prices on many of them are now higher than whan I got them.

I have only sold 2 guns in my life, a Marlin Mod 60 and an EAA Witness polymer .45.  Used the money to buy a stripped lower for a build.

I've sold some in the past but everytime I do that, I end up buying even more.  So I stopped selling.

I did. I had way too many. Went on a selling spree the last 2 years. Trimmed the stable back a bit.
Kept the 2 AR's and 2 FAL's though.

Yes, but then I woke up in a cold sweat.  My wife said I was screaming in my sleep.
