That's strange...when I read the title of the thread he was the first person who came to mind as well. Must be a pretty good sign. |
Who's gonna knock the drink out of his hand long enough to film a scene? |
Jason Statham maybe.
I think Golden Eye was the best bond movie of all time, but all the ones after it were terrible. |
Sean Bean put Pierce Brosnan to shame. Very badass dude. If not for that fucking coffee cup, he would have kicked Robert Deniro's ass. |
Jason Statham kicks A#$! He was great in every movie I have seen him in: Snatch, Lock Stock and 2 Smoking Barrels, Transporter, even that cellphone movie. THat being said...I'm not sure about him being Bond. I think he might look a little too tough for the Bond character. |
Yeah, he plays some cool characters but a BALD 007 would be ghey. |
Yeah, the franchise has really gone down in these past few movies. As for the charcter of Bond, he has sort of evolved from being witty and suave, to being a man that spews out tastless innuendo and is just overall obnoxious.
I liked all of Connery's movies except Never Say Never Again. I think he epitomized the character found in the books. The only movie starring Moore that I enjoyed was Live and Let Die. The rest of his just weren't any good. To those who said Timothy Dalton was second best, I'd have to agree. He seemed to get back to the sort of quiet, cool Bond character that was best. As far as Brosnan's movies go, well, GoldenEye was pretty good, but it went down hill from there. Tomorrow Never Dies was so-so, but these last two were some of the worst movies I have ever seen, period. I mean, I don't know if Ritz Crackers had some sort of specially-marked boxes that let the winner write the script for these films, but they were just absolutely mind-numbing. As for a new Bond, I think maybe some unknown would be best. But I'm sure it's going to end up being one of the current popular British actors (like Clive Owen, or some other punk). Or maybe Jackie Chan . . . ? |
Actually, the Transporter guy might be half-way decent. Crow, I am afraid, is just wound too tight for the part. |

+1000 He's actually in the top running. |
I love Jason Statham, but I think he's too young. |
Brosnan was booted because of his age.
The next guy will be younger and project a less sophisticated, mature image. However, to me, the sophisticated, mature image thing is what made Bond, Bond. Looks like it's heading down hill. Although some say it was headed down hill when Roger Moore took over the role. |
Jim Caviezel or Someone who is actually from England, with a legitimate English accent.
+2 for the American Psycho and resident Batman Christian Bale.
Statham would be good but he'd need to grow out his hair. |
"The name's Christ. Jesus Christ." |
I know, but I couldn't resist. |
Turd Ferguson |
Vin Diesel.
Or....how about Sean Connery? I think he could STILL pull it off! Really! Uh....Mike Tyson? Brad Pitt! Heck, why not give Angelina Jolie the role? CJ |
Very good! |
+1 He was good in "the recruit" too. and Swat too. Good actor |
That would be interesting. Let Connery go bald and send "Whomever" out to make London safe for Mom, apple crumpets and tea. |
Transporter II coming soon........................... |
I think Sean Connery should play a Bond villian. Wouldn't that be great? It wouldn't be the first time someone played a bad guy and then a seperate good guy later in the series.
I'd bet money he gets an offer, at the very least. |
Bwwwawuhahahahahaha! Good one Grabby! |
Will Farrel would be better than that doofus.................. |
I think Val Kilmer could do a good job with it.
I really liked him in "Spartan" |
+1 Excellent movie. |
I thought Jude Law could do the job. I would've liked to see Liam Neeson play him instead of Timothy Dalton.
I think the franchise is dead. They've run out of "good" bad guys to go against. Characters like bin Laden hide in caves instead of luxurious underground hideouts and inactive volcanoes. Besides, it would be nearly impossible for a super villian to build a deluxe hideout these days without drawing some attention. |
That movie sucked, and if you've ever heard Kilmer do accents (like in "the saint")...whew. |
Interesting idea. |
In today's wimpy man's world, he should be a gay guy. How about one of the homos from "Will and Grace?" At the end of the movie, Bond "really" fucks the bad guy.

Kids these days.... You are about 30 years too late. It was done in 1965... I have them all on video and loved the series, even though they were slapstick comedy. Dean was the man. www.thrillingdetective.com/helm_matt.html THE SILENCERS.. (1966, Columbia) Based on the novels "Death Of A Citizen" and "The Silencers" by Donald Hamilton Screenplay by Oscar Saul Directed by Phil Karson Starring Dean Martin as MATT HELM Also starring Stella Stevens, Daliah Lavi, Victor Buono, Arthur O'Connell I have all the Bond series in letterbox. Dad introduced me to Bond in the 60's. I wait for every new release. Connery had class and sophistication in the role. Moore was too comedic and never took the role seriously. Q even said as much in an interview. Lazenby wasn't that good, but you need to watch "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" to bring them together and see why Bond won't marry again. Dalton was calculating as a stone killer, something I admire, but was too squeaky clean and kissed the girls and put their shirts back on. Brosnan brought class back to the role in the vein of Connery. I enjoyed the 4 that Brosnan did. I enjoy most all of them. I still go back to "Thunderball" as one of my favs, even though I was just a youngin when it was released. I love the lines from Blofeld and Bond while shooting skeet: Bond: "That's a woman's gun, isn't it?" Blofeld: "You know about guns, Mr. Bond?" Bond: "No. But I know about women..." It kills me. Don't know who should be the next Bond, but I hope he has class, is good, is British and they continue the series..... I even have "Never Say Never Again" on DVD even if it's an unofficial Bond film. +1 I can't see him as anything but a flaming homo after Alexander. Whoever they pick, I just hope they get rid of Julie Dench. The role of M should go to a man. |

The bond movies have jumped the shark. What is up with halle Berry in a bond movie. She took over the whole movie and made it about her and not bond.
