I always liked the look and feel of the marlins.  I also already have a .22 rimfire so buying ammo would be easier.  Is the .22 magnum significantly more powerful then the standard?  Can it should targets out to 200 yards?

I have a Winchester but would trade it for a
Marlin in a heartbeat.

At 200 yd you would be as well off throwing a rock. The high vel .22 cal ammo is just as bood as a mag at reasonable distance.

I would be interested in getting a rifle in the 22 magnum caliber...how accurate is the 9422?

Both are excellent rifles, but I too lean toward the Marlin.  I would not attempt to use either rimfire cartridge for 200-yard shooting, the .22LR runs out of steam at around 75 yards (high-velocity ammo drops subsonic at about that range, after which groups open up a lot).  The .22WMR stretches the effective range to 125 yards for hunting purposes.

There was a Marlin 1894M chambered in .22 Magnum a few years ago; if you want the magnum cartridge in a Marlin, you should be able to find one for sale.  I believe it only came with the straight-grip stock, if that is of importance.
