Just curious what everyone's thoughts were on the recent missile strikes on Baghdad. I left Kosovo not too long ago - I'm wondering what the chances are of me being sent to the Mid-East next.

Seems like a good time to break in those new Low cost Autonomous Smart missles that we have been developing. Hope you got all your shots up to date.

Chances are I'll be going back to Kosovo ( candyland - joke of a deployment) anyway in 2002 - but I'm hoping to actually see some of Europe while I'm overseas. And if we did go to all-out-war in the Middle East - it would be messy as hell.

Nothing is going to happen. As much as I want to go down there and kick some ass, I just don't see any reason for Dubya to send us...

If going to the gulf has ANYTHING to do with Israel it wont happen. The saudis wont allow it nor will any arab nation.

I would expect just more bombing. Iraq would have to invade a country for another ground war.

I'm stationed overseas in Germany. They can redeploy a unit after they have had 6 months for recovery. Crazy, huh? We also spend 6-7 months of the year in the field. Between the black beret thing and the Army's ongoing stupid PC policies I think this will eventually become "Army of None"........ [smoke]

Nope. . I had a 9 digit shop teacher that said "Why is there never enough time to do things right but there`s always enough time to do it again."?
