Criminy, I saw my first 'in person' one of these in petsmart Sunday...that was a BIG dog |

He's a pet, but show quality (which means he cost alot). The Neapolitan breed just got accepted into the AKC this year. They've been in the US since the early 80s and in Italy since the Roman Empire. My boy is very friendly, though a great guard dog as well. Hell, just his looks scare most people away. Kids love him. Neapolitan.org |

Wow! Those are incredible dogs. I have never seen one in person, but I have read alot about them. How much does your dog weigh? I have read that they are very powerful animals. They originated in South Africa did'nt they? |

My guy is so friggin' big compared to other boxers we see.... He's 67lbs now at 15mos.... He is a lot taller than most boxers. I'll get some more pics tonight... |

ditto. Have 3 and if our regular mailman is off, we don't get mail. UPS and FedEx won't venture into the yard either. |

I prefer mutts but if I had to pick specific breeds I would go with Border Collies & Black Labs.

I have a female Rat Terrier, great companion. No small critter safe on our property. Can't figure how to download a photo?

|
A little known breed from South Africa..... BOER BOEL They are very similiar to a Mastiff. They are bred to protect livestock and children. Supposedly, three adults can take down an adult Lion |
|
I'm kind of a mutt guy... I prefer to call them "American Dogs"
For breeds, though, I like a beagle or a german short hair pointer. |

When our Jack was younger he would play fetch with a rope just like that. I would tie it to a rope out of a tree and he would jump, grab and swing all afternoon if you could put up with it I'll see if I can dig up a pic or two and come back and edit this post and post them. Here is the only good one I have here at work. Here is another one from last Xmas when we had 12" of snow. I will probably never live to see another white Xmas here in south Texas. The dark spot on his front shoulder is from and accident he had with a tiller he hit doing 60mph. Pretty well skinned his shoulder out, took a bunch of stitches, but he healed up O.K. It took me quite a while to figure out what he had ran into or how it happened as it happened while we were at work. At first I thought that maybe he had got hung up and cut trying to get out of the fence. He has chewed two complete boards off the bottom of the gate before. I now have it reenforced with 2 X 6's to make it Jack proof I later found hair on one of the tiller blades is how I found out what he had hit I had put the tiller in the back yard a couple of days before to work on it and it was out of the way. I'll never leave anything that a 60mph Jack can run into again. The fur all grew back and there is no apparant scar even |

Shorthair Miniature Dachsunds. My family has had three of them, and all of them have been terrific dogs. |

Osprey, that is an outstanding K9! I've been contemplating getting a pair of pups...thoughts on the breed? For those that requested GSD pics, here are a couple of mine: The Kids: Gone, but not forgotten: Sheep |

that pic is all over and I doubt it is anybody's dog from here (but I could be wrong). Also it is a bull mastif, not a pitbull |

My favorite is a Shiba Inu. It is a minature Akita, also from Japan. They only get about 18 pounds and I think are a good choice for indoors.

That Boxer sure looks like it has a LOT of Bulldog in it! Nice looking dog. I'll try to add a pic of my hound when I get to my other computer. She looks surprisingly similar to your daughters Boxer. |
