Howdy all!!!!
These are some ideas for the gun makers out there.
A double rifle in 45/70, maybe have it with an extra set of barrels is 20 gage.
A lever action rifle in 454 casull
A wildcat the uses a a .458 dia bullet and 308 case. you could use an AR10 or a mauser action.
A bolt action rifle that has a foldng stock so I can take it backpacking with me.
Just some ideas I have.  I'm interested in what you guys think

Choate makes a folding stock for Remington ADLs and BDLs and Savages (short and long action), as well as long action Winchesters.  The is no pic on the website, but it looks similar to this:

My wishlist for guns that should exist (IMHO):

Get someone to make a M1 carbine type rifle (with synthetic stock) and 10 rd mags for 10mm, .357SIG, 40S&W, 45 Super, .45ACP, ect... .

How about an upper for AR's in 5.45 x 39mm. Already did the other ComBloc round so why not this one? Flatter trajectory, longer range, more effective terminal ballistics than 7.62 x 39mm. And it's CHEAP AMMO also (right now anyways). And the rounds fit in AR mags no problem, as for function of mags with this round???

I believe you are refering to a robar(Robbie Barkman). It is a remington short action, the stock folds just behind the triggerguard. When locked open, it is as strong as a solid stock. A bit on the pricey side though!![sniper]

Big John,EAA makes a 12 gauge that you can get 45/70-308-7.62x39-30/06-222REM inserts for.It uses the screw in chokes for regulation.12 gauge isnt a 20 but its close enough for me.Ill post a pick here soon.

I think someone should start making a large caliber version of the Webley agian.

I did see a 45-70 double rifle in Guns & Ammo a couple years ago. Find a blackpowder board and ask them. They do exist.

Remake the Broomhandle Mauser, actually if you ask me, other the the Mauser, you can pretty much get anything you want, provided you have $$$. Some peope disagree, but it seems like the golden age for me if you like guns.

I have a copy of the book "Military Small Arms of teh 20th Century."

Looking at that, they already make all the cool guns I could ever want. They only need to do two things -

1. Allow importation of foreign made firearms into the country again. Allow domestic manufacture and sale of full auto again.

2. Make them affordable to the average man. (This would party be accomplished by # 1 above.)

On the "need " list -

1. Sig 550 / 551.
2. FN Minimi (U.S. M249 SAW)
3. BAR in .308

That's all that comes to mind right now.

The Ruger PC9/PC4 isn't close enough for you?
I DO wish someone would make 10-rounders for the .44 Deerfield though.

An Ar-15 Style Rifle, mounted with a shotgun underneath. The shotgun could hold a few rounds and be pump action. The barrel would be right where a bayonet would be. Underneath a shotgun barrel would be a tube mag. that runs below the barrel. When you run out of ammo, you just pump it and pull the trigger and wammo the sucka gets a 12 gauge in the chest or head.

A 4 Gauge Fully-Automatic shotgun. Yes I said 4 Gauge. The shell would be about 2 inches in diameter or 40mm. An M-60 type gun could fire these by means of a 200 round belt. And with a round this big it would hold 100 Pellets in #0. A 2" Slug would be like a canon. In #8 it would hold thousands of small pellets. It would generate a wall of lead and could be used to decimate advancing troops. Another size of shot could be used that was about .50 Caliber or higher and a shell would hold 14 .50 Caliber pellets.

A highly portable 40mm MG. Something like an M60 or M249, but in 40mm.

As I said once before a .50BMG AR-15. I was told it existed, but I wonder how a .50 Caliber shell would fit through a Feed well that is half as long as the shell.

Also, a 12 Gauge AR-15, that could use 1 oz. slugs or Lead/Steel shot.

Glad to see all the neat posts!!!!   The 458 SOCOM round looks like it could fit the bill.  Does Tony sell reamers????   I can get really nice Czech VZ24 rifles for about $60 and barrel blanks for about $80.  Just think,  you could put a folding stock on this and have a nice back pack gun for Alaska.  I'd like to go bear hunting in British Colombia next year and use a bow,  however the guide said I needed bring a rilfe for a back-up.  I think that set up might fit the bill.  I saw a double 45/70 at Cabelas.  It had exposed hammers and I'd rather not have those.  Another gun I'd like to see is that new Russian round the 9.3x39 in an SKS or AR upper
Thanks
Big John

You should check into the pistol caliber uppers that Olympic Arms sells.

I've got one in .40 S&W, and it is the FUNNEST gun I own, bar none. It comes in most of the calibers you listed, with 15 round mags for them as well.

They just slap onto your present lower. TRUE plug and play. Or in this case "plugging" WHILE you play. [:D]

Check it out here. www.olyarms.com/usa.html

Look under the "retail catalog" then under the pistol caliber uppers.

How about an M203-lookalike in 12 gauge so all the guys with M4 barrels will have something to use their notches for?
