Hey!
What kind of Sig's do you own, and how long have you had it?

I own a P-P226, and absolute LOVE it to death.
Any other Sig fans out there??

I have a 2 week old Sig 220. Most accurate pistol I have next to my CZ 75B. It is a dream to shoot. I never thought I would like the 45 cartridge this much. I know its all about shot placement and with this gun you can make nice, accurate LARGE holes in bad guys.

Man oh man how lbj loves his Sigs.

Hmmm, P220, P228 P229(with interchangeable barrels in 9, 40 and 357sig) and a P225.

Some have a sibling twin but gentlemen speak not of these sordid things.

GOOD MORNING ALL.
it's question time concerning sigs.

what's the difference between Sig Arms (says made in Hungary) and Sig Sauer (says made in Germany)?

Sigarms "made in Hungary"? I hadn't heard of this one. No doubt a Sig expert here on AR15.com can answer this...lbj is interested about this.

I am sure the Membership at the newly sold and bought www.sigforum.com would like to hear of this. I've never heard this one.

The SigForum site still has the BCA logo but today broke with them and is independent and moving to a new server.

Ed SR, I apologize for the shameless plug. lbj should be whacked. Oh and Ed, thanks to you and your sons for the advice ya'll gave me regarding the "new improved super concentrated" SigForum. The Avilas are truly a cut above for helping us with our Board.

My (possibly incorrect) understanding, is that Swiss law forbids the export of weapons. To get around this, SIG has set up satellite companies in other countries that do some of the manufacturing or assemble weapons from Swiss made parts. For example, my SIGs were partially manufactured in Germany and "assembled" in New Hampshire. My P229 says "SIGARMS EXETER NH-FRAME MANUFACTURED IN GERMANY."

I have an issued P229 and P220. I was a diehard Glock man and it took a while to get used to the mandated SIGs. I love them now. I have put 4-5K rounds through the P229, and have never had a stoppage. I have to "pretend" to have stoppages to practice that drill. That is impressive. Even my Glocks jam, sometimes.

My gun says Sig Sauer and SigArms Tyson Corner VA.

I have a P220 .45 that I've owned since '84. Its a euro model with bottom mag release. They were imported by Interarms back then and marked made in West Germany.
One of the best pistols I've ever had.

Sigs always seem well built and the single action trigger pull is usually the best. Double action pull can be gritty.
I finally settled on a 229 in 9mm to be my ultimate "niner". Finest kind!

Sig 220 1996
Sig 226 1997
Sig Pro 2340 1999

Love em all. You HK fans won't be singing praises for HK when you need service. I had a USP 40 that HK had for over 6 months to fix an extractor problem. No more HK's for me.

HK=great guns but lousy service for non police & military.

Sig=great guns and great service for everyone.

Bought my first Sig back in the 80s, a 226 with Sig Sauer marking imported by Interarms, in Virginia.  I didn't know too much on these pistols when it came to our shore, it was a friends recommendation and pointed very natural.  When you compare it side by side with the Beretta 92's, the ergo is just great on these Sigs.  Guess how much I paid for it at dealer price?  a whopping $349.00, new!

I love this pistol/brand so much, I now have a 220 in .45 ACP and and 229 in .40S&W.

I hope to be getting a 245 in the future.

Here is my Sig220.  I've had it since 1991.

I've also had Sig226 and 225 in 9mm but they are long gone.  I'm thinking about getting another Sig225 as that was an excellent pistol.

SIGs are what pistols are supposed to be. I consider them the standard. They aren't the best I've ever shot (my favorite is the HK P7), but yeah, I'll take a SIG.  Especially if it's in .357 auto.

P226 in 9MM with hicaps
P239 in 9MM
P220 in .45

I had been trying auto pistol systems one by one until I bought the P220 and I stopped looking.  I find them to be accurate, reliable, and they fit my hand perfectly.
