so it uses a blow-back design correct? I don't want to screw anything up on my first outing with this.

It just freaked me out seeing a key but no tube for it[BD] Sure. Did you test your Sten mags and see if they would fit and feed? Sometimes you have to fit them to your lower and the Socom block. Not too hard to do. Don't want you to get disappointed first time out. |

A fellow board member sent me a few used mags & socom block to use. They have been used already so I don't think I fore-see any problems with feeding. Going to the range with in the next 2 days to give it a good work out.

I don't want to burst your bubble, but unless your lower and his are the same make you could have a problem, then again, maybe not. Just be aware. I sometimes use mine in two different lowers and have to fit mags for each. |

Thanks for all this info. It's going to save me all sorts of anger at the range. I'm using a DPMS Lower for this set-up. I have a socom block w/ sten mags & also Olys modded sten mag too. locked in all the mags, they fit nice & tight with not play.
What type of adjustments with these mags & lower are you talking about? |

Put some rounds in the mags and take it outside and try to cycle them through the action. The shroud on the sten mags may need trimmed right where the paddle mag catch hooks in. You may also have to grind the original stops on the outside. You'll figure this out after you mess with them a while. Sorry I don't have any good pics of this online. |
