I posted this weapon with some Corona beers a week or two ago, thought I'd let you know how I make the world a more "rainbow" place with it:

here it is compared above the new upper I bouht from some guy at the Gun Show in Dallas last Saturday.  It's a 7", he asked $250 for it, I haggled him down to $150.  Good God did it run fast, even with the 3 oz. Heavy Colt buffer, it still ran faster than my M11/9.

It shot so fast, I blew the front site off, have to re-attatch it and lock it down good this time.  And talk about loud, 2' by 3' muzzle flash in the middle of the day, no joke, like a flamethrower.  Sorry, no pics of that, will get some next weekend.

Where are you shooting in that picture?

A camera.  Was just making some figure "eights" in the water to see if we could catch the water spouts on film.  Most of the day was burst firing down the 100-300 yard range to see where bullets 2 & 3 go (round 1 is accurate, the rest are a waste - ie, full auto is for fun, ambush, or escape, not for 95% of combat).

Also, had the new Colt Heavy buffer in the CAR stock and we had a case of ammo to burn.  Why not have some fun with it?  Now I'm having fun putting the 7" upper front sight back on.  Sure hope I line up the gas hole straight!

Take a guess at how far the far bank of the river is to where I was standing (in yards).  Closest guess wins a prize.

BTW, anyone count any brass mid-air?

It's a lot farther than it first looks.

Guessing, based on the height of the splashes, and the distance between them. It's tough to tell the depth of the picture, but the more I look at it, the more it looks like 30+ yards.
Plus the guy in the tree wearing the ghillie suit looks really small, so It's gotta be pretty far.[;)]

I am going to say 50 to 70 yards. Is that the Trinity River?

150 yards due to compression

Range 100 meters.

And I count three brass airborne arcing to
2 oclock.

And you have a hole in the back of your T
shirt.   [smoke]

four splashes, four empties visible in the air.

50 yards, three pieces of brass. OK, what do I win? [:)]

five mid-air brass, far banks about 50 yards.

Ditto on the brass...5 in the air

I count 6 brass and the far bank is at least 60yds maybe a little more. The big trees in the background are about 100yds away. Ill hazard a guess that its about 5pm also.

Michael

changed my count on the brass, looks like one just leaving the ejection port...

2 brass in the air and 30 yards to the waterline.

6 brass?  Wow, I only saw 4 originally, went back and sure enough, there are 6 not including the one that isn't coming out of the ejection port (if there was one there, that would be 7).

I count 9 water spouts, look behind the bushes lower left.

Anyone else care to guess on the distance? (we are looking for distance to water line on far shore).

I'd like someone to post a picture with the brass circled. I only see three definite pieces of brass. There are a couple of questionable objects, but certainly not confirmable brass.
