Do any companies produce a stock/grip assembly that isn't a pistol grip? I ask because a "pistol grip" is one of the things on a rifle that makes it an assault rifle. If it's possible, a company should look into designing them if they don't already exist.

Why?

What's worse than that?

"having an AR15 with no pistol grip is like sniffing your sister's butt" -paraphrased from Triumph, the comic dog.

That looks like a booger or something........

Brownells makes a one and two finger stubb grip. I'm not sure if it is considered a pistol grip though. Their item # is 573-000-005 and it id their "survival" grip.

JP enterprise makes a thumbhole stock. They are so nice I am considering one just cause I like the lamitante wood. I don't know their website address.

So does a thumbhole stock such as JP's constitute a "A pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon"?

Yes the thumbhole is considered the same as a pistol grip by the ATF... Hmm, that ZM grip doesn't look half bad to me [:D]

It's a moot point because the most recent ruling on the Roberti-Roos law effectively ended sales of AR15 "series" firearms in Kalifornia.

Maybe moot for you in Cali, but it looks like it might actually provide a decent functional grip, while not "protruding conspicuosly" beneath the rifle. I just might consider giving up the pistol grip for a bayonet lug. :> A flash hider or a folding stock would probably be a better choice, but the lug is just nifty. Will it fit with a fixed A-2 stock?

That thing looks nasty to hold. Ice

This has been talked to death. Anyone who is silly enough to try and comply with that stupid law in CA might as well sell their AR and get it over with. Otherwise, be a man and put the grip on and tell Gay Davis (whose time in office will be coming to an end--thank you energy crisis) and Bill Locyer(ass-up) to go to hell.

I agree it's not the best idea, and that they'd just pass a new definition of "assault rifle", but I thought it was worth thinking about. Thanks for the info
