I think it depends on if it is press on or threaded on.

It depends on where you are looking for muzzle flash.

My shorty ak has *less* muzzle flash than my 16" carbine, as seen from the driver's seat.  Down range, I don't know.

They should be more careful with their wording.

My guess is that it is based on the BATF approval for manufacture and sale as a Break instead of a Hider.

Yeah F4YR,
It does depend on if your in the car doing the firing or if your being fired at.[:D]

DK-PROF, read the whole sentence carefully.
It is a muzzle brake, not a flash hider. Most brakes will light you up at night, this one is a little better in that regard than most of it's type.

Muzzle brakes don't increase the flash, just redirect it.

If they reduce the flash at all, they would be a flash reducer and would be illegal on post-ban weapons.

No ambiguity in that.

I heard that 16" barrels are going to be banned because they increase muzzle flash over a 20" barrel.
Please try and understand, most gun laws are based on "emotion" not fact. Therefore "logic" isn't a factor.

I doubt they would ban anything that INcreases muzzle flash, after banning flash suppressors. But, then again, look who does all the banning. [:o)]
