As a step to preserve our freedom and protest the UN burning guns on July 9th, July 9th has been declared a National Gun Buying Day.

The Michigan Coaltion for Responsible Gun Owners, is asking that all firearm dealers to offer discounts and incentives on July 9th in an effort to encourage firearm ownership. We are also asking people to stop buy their local gun store and take advantage of the deals.

While we are only a Michigan group we are spreading this message far and wide and hope others will inform gun owners and dealers of this in their own state.

I believe that is a good day to buy one or two more firearms.

I just hope the NICS doesn't grind to a halt!

AeroE, you can bet if Clinton were still in office or Bore had been elected, NICS would be down that day.

Even if NICS does stop on that day, you can still buy a gun by paying for it and filling out all the paper work. Just stop by and pick up the gun in the next day or two. No biggie. You're still full filling the intent of the protest.

Hhmmm - been thinking about adding a P1445 Limited anyway. The only thing that pisses them off as much as "assault weapons" is high capacity handguns.

Does anyone have connections to any of the firearms manufactures? Maybe they would like to announce a discount or rebate for that day so the dealers wouldn't have to eat all the costs.

Much as I'd like to participate, I think I've already done my part. I've bought four "evil" rifles in the last month and a half alone.. how many more do I need? (DO NOT, REPEAT, DO NOT ANSWER! :) )

*sigh*.. is there a twelve-step program I can join?
