I just picked up a unfired preban bushy which has a A1 upper with 11.5 barrel and 5.5 suppressor. I want to sell the upper and get a M4 style. Which do you guys think looks better
14.5 with phantom permenantly attached
16" M4 with A2 birdcage
or a regular profile 16" with A2
Thanks for the input...
51 out..

Are you planning on using the bayonet lug to install a bayonet?
If not, I'd suggest the A2 Dissipator upper with all the pre-ban goodies.
Nice score on a pre-ban.  Options are open to you with that platform.

I would like to have a bayo lug even though I probably won't use it. It has a tele stock and seems too short to use a bayonet.
also any ideas as to what that 11.5 upper would be worth to sell ?
Thanks

the 16"will give you a bit more velocity, but not enough to really matter. Either way, you've got a nice weapon,Congratulations!

That type of upper is really the least desireable, as the short barrel length (11.5") wastes the potential speed that can be attained from the 5.56mm.

If it is in good condition, you might get somewhere in the $300-$350 range with the B/C/CH included.  Folks looking for a dedicated .22 lr upper may be interested.

You can order a 14.5 barrel with permanently attached Vortex or Phantom from Bushmaster.
I'd keep the A1 upper and just swap barrels.
My pre-ban Bushy also started out as a 11.5/5.5 "shorty". I hated that barrel but loved the rifle.

The 14.5" M4 barrel with the Phantom FS looks the best, given the configurations you've listed.

I never liked the looks of the 16" barrels, they appear to have way too much barrel forward of the front sight tower.  The 14.5" and 20" barrels are much more "aesthetically appealing."

Performance-wise however, of course the 16" barrels are better than either the 14.5" or the 11.5".

You asked for looks though, so the above is my two cents.

14.5 is the best choice.  It look so cool.

14.5" M-4, no doubt about it, that way you can still attach the bayonet.
