I was thinking about putting some blaze orange paint on my front sight post?  Has anybody done this or does anybody have any thoughts on this.  Just wondering, Thanks

I was thinking about using some of the glow in the dark sight paint.  Anybody try this yet?

First, give it a coat of flat white, and then use flourescent orange. You will be surprised at how bright it will be.

i'm not sure if painting your front sight blaxe orange and then trying to shoot at a blaze orange target 100+ yards away is very smart...

Troy, the trijicon have one dot on it (maybe 2), out of 4 positions? I'm guessing if I installed it, zeroed it, the dot would not be where I wanted it. How you fix that?

I once swapped out my front sight with an orange one I bought from cheaperthandirt.  No special night properties, it was just colored orange.

Once I put my eye up to sight it against the target, it appeared black.  No difference.   So, IMO, unless it has night properties (trijicon etc) I don't think it will be any benefit.

One of my A2 Govt barrels came in with the front sight painted.  I left it there to see if it did anything.  Same as 7.  It just appears black, no difference.  I wouldn't bother to paint one.

I did it on my SKS and haven't regretted it.  It really helps one to more quickly acquire the sight picture.  I just used some marking paint I had around (which will come off easily if I ever want to remove it).
