Jaq is right! With an SKS, you can carry much more ammo since you don't have those Rug mags to lug around. With just a little practice, you can keep an SKS putting fire downrange must faster than an Mini. The strippers work great.
Unlike a Mini, you can shoot 10 rounds and expect them to stray on the paper. Barrels on the SKS are stouter and chrome-lined (except for the Yugos).
The Mini looks cool, until you realize it is a civi knock-off with expensive mags and disappointing accuracy (for the money).
The SKS is designed that even if you couldn't get parts, you can make them yourself. It was a semi-auto carbine for peasants.
There are good adjustable peep sights for the SKS. I see no point in putting a scope on a rifle like the Mini or the SKS. Their accuracy doesn't justify it.
