I was asking my wife what kind of rifle she would want to get.  After letting her handle and, at times, shoot mine she was not too keen on any of them.  As a joke I showed her a picture of a Winchester 94.  She loved it and now wants the lever action in .357 to match her .357 revolver.   She could have an AR and she wants a Winchester 94!  What is going on!?!?

Maybe I should be happy it wasn't an Valmet. :)

Get her a Win 94 carbine; she will like the weight and balance. Most people and women in particular wont use a rifle that is heavy to them after carrying it for a few minuets.

Lever guns are fun; my kids both have AR15’s and still love their Henry lever action .22’s.
I also would recommend getting one that is set up for a scope, you don’t have to put a scope on but some day she might want to try it with one.

I have a Model 94 Trails End ( at one time SASS looked interesting to me...) in 44 Mag and love it.
Good handling, light in weight, and quick to shoulder. Some things never change.
Oh, and when people tell ya a lever action can't shoot groups, don't believe them!!

I would get her whatever she wants.  Those lever guns are pretty cheap in comparision to AR15s.  My wife likes jewelry from Tiffany's.

The 94 is a piece of history.  Much like the AR-15 (M-16) and AK

Yep - I think I'll pick her up her new Cowboy Assault Rifle on July 9th National Buy a Gun Day (for those who didn't know).  The more I look at them, they are beginning to grow on me.

SWS,
That's not a Cowboy Assault Weapon, Since it's scoped it's a Cowboy High Powered Sniper Rifle.

I can't figure out why people like lever actions either, but liking a dumb gun is better than liking no guns at all!

Get her one, Chili Dog!

Brian P. just got one in .45-70 (I think).  Very nice, light, portable gun.

Reliable, accurate, light weight, powerful, inexpensive, plentiful ammo, several calibers to choose from. Sounds alot like an AR. Only difference is its not semi auto and not likely to be banned and the look is familiar and non threatening to most people. There are plenty of reasons to like lever guns. Of the "dumb guns" out there its probably the smartest.
