Why not use a fileswapping util to get it spread out unitl someone with some real bandwidth picks this up.

I've got a dvd inbound from Stormtrooper. As soon as it gets here I'll get it to a reasonable size and host it on winmx and post the file name in GD to start the swapping. edit for spelling. |

I'd like to see it too, or at least listen to it. Is it something that could be made into just an audio file? Or did they use video and visual demonstrations that would be lost without seeing the debate?

Be prepared. I assume he does not have a DS3 pipe from his Net provider. If he's got 384K upload like Roadrunner/Comcast it will be about 30hrs before the file is transfered. assuming around 700meg in size. Start upping the size or lowering his bandwidth and it gets longer.
I'm leaving early Thursday morning. If it's not all here by then I won't be able to dial in and make it open before Thursday night. Expect it to take a simlar / little quicker time to suck it off my server. I have a 512K upstream speed so it's going to take time to move the file around on the net. Once a few people get it from me you might start a torrent so that it get's out to more people a little faster. |

Bittorrent. We can start one as soon as we have a reasonable size file. I know a couple of trackers, or I might be able to use my computer as a tracker. Then, all we need is at least one seed (computer with the file and a decent connection) to start, and the rest will take care of itself.

Ok Folks, I am uploading the video to Grunteled's server and it should be ready for download in roughly 1/2 hour. He will post the link when he gets set up.
Cheers! Edit- it will be a small quicktime video so hopefully most of you can view the quicktime format. I appologize for the small video size but I wanted to get it out as soon as possible. I also will have full size dvds going out to a few people here who will duplicate and distribute them. |

The .mov file will be about 66 megs and the DVD version will end up being 4.3 gigs.

Sammich, that would be nice of you to do. Right now it is uploading on Grunteled's server and he will be hosting it. Once he does he will post the link and you can download it and post it to your server also. This way we won't all overload his server.

It don't stream from FTP so you'll have to download the whole thing. Somebody else may be able to pull that off.
Link removed due to legal concerns You might want to do a right-click and "save link as" so it doesn't trigger the plug-in. Otherwise your going to stare at your browser for a good long while. |
