I wonder if eBay shut him down and it just happen to coincide with your email ... now he thinks you did it! .. |

I would hope that if I was new and set up an auction that violated the site's policy that someone has helpful as Dukota would send me and email with sound advice. That way I could correct my mistake and not waste my time. You did right, Dukota. |

I just read this entire thread and its so funny how everyone was supporting DUKOTA (orginal 'poster') at first and now everyone's biting his head off. I agree that sometimes we are our worst enemy, but look at what the ebay seller wrote to him. The seller was clearly being an a-hole and deserves to be fcked with in return.
Secondly, I don't believe in policing sh#t like this, but it's people like that ebay seller that give gun owners/advocates a bad rap. We don't need em. Imagine hearing a story on the news about how some kid bought parts to build a gun on Ebay, shoots someone or many with it, and the story goes on. You wanna see a liberal feeding frenzy and the gun industry in a PR nightmare??? That'll do it for ya. I like being able to buy guns on the internet... I don't need some wacked out ebay seller ruining that for me. |

Real World Lesson # 1046 - Being a nice guy doesn't help so you might as well mind your own business and let the assholes take care of themselves...
I was just checking my emails and I have emails from : Pregnant mag Ebony Mag A couple of amatuer porn sites. I guess this is his way of "getting back at me". Lame... |

Sure the guy is an unbalanced a-hole, but why screw with him? It’s just the internet. Move on with your lives instead of ‘net gang-banging the guy. I’m sure the guy is all talk, but why aggravate him? At best it’s a waste of your time, at worst the guy could have some tricks up his sleeve.
Other than being an a-hole how is he hurting fellow gun owners for selling gun parts on Ebay? Ebay is ravenously anti-gun, so of course they are going to have strict anti-gun rules. I say fight the system and sell on Ebay, screw ‘em.
Pu-leeze, that’s a stretch. Guns are sold on the internet everyday and you don’t hear much about it. Some of you gunowners need to sack-up and stop jumping at your own shadows when it comes to guns and PR. The media and the liberals hate us and our evil ‘assault rifles’. There’s nothing you can do to change that sentiment. You’ll never stop the media bias and you’ll never stop stupid people from shooting other stupid people so stop worrying so much about their feelings. I swear, some of you guys would wear a dress to the range if you thought it would make the Anti-gunners feel more comfortable… |

Hey you guys are missing the main point. That guy can be sent to jail easy......... He is breaking the California assault weapons law by selling hi capacity magazines from california. Here is the law (2) Commencing January 1, 2000, manufactures or causes to be manufactured, imports into the state, keeps for sale, or offers or exposes for sale, or who gives, or lends, any large-capacity magazine. Send off a letter and send him off to jail.
hahaha, e-thug. I'd like to know what the fuck he's really going to do halfway across the country. He more than likely doesn't even know anything about computer viruses and spreading them to people. I hate guys like this. Tough on the internet, and behind their glass screens, but in real life, they won't do shit. Good job on alerting ebay to this guy. And just keep laughing at him. |
Jeezus, now we're playing junior CA DOJ and BATFE agent roles... Maybe he's an FFL holder, I imagine they are exempt from that restriction. I don't know the law, but I would assume that even as an individual in you could sell mags out of the state, just not to anyone within your own state. I know we're not supposed to promote illlegal actions here on ARFcom, but damn, we don't need to play the role of law enforcement here. I guess "...Shall Not Infringe" has kind of lost its meaning over the years. |

Reading this thread makes me wonder how many DU'ers have accounts with AR15.com.
Dukota didn't do anything wrong. All he did was inform someone why they should be careful with what they're doing, and the psycho in CA blew up. If I was doing something illegal or against business rules, I'd hope that someone would nicely inform me of my mistake so I can correct it before getting into trouble. This wacko only got into trouble for being a jerk. |
I remember this guy from awhile back, same name just speeled different. He was selling ak mags for $9.00. Guess ebay kicked him and he had to start a new account.
I'm not an IT freak, but by threatening you he probably committed a breach of his service provider's rules. He did it a second time by subscribing you to porn, etc. I'd do a ISP look up and slam him through his provider by shutting down his service. See how he likes that - nothing like bringing a knife to a gun fight!
You should have left him alone from the start. There is no federal crime involved and policing Ebay's rediculous policies are best left up to Ebay.
Joe, you just like to start stuff dont ya? |
you should've just left the fucker alone.
Now one of you wants to call the doj on them? Do you check peoples papers at the range to make sure their "machine guns" are registered? Guys like that eventually hang themelves. |
I just blocked all the spam at my IP so it's not a problem. |
I was thinking the same. He has too many other auctions going to be a complete newbie. CR |
I agree. Why do you feel it necessary to monitor someone else's auctions? I bet you're the kid who used to tell on everyone else in class. Remember, its eBay's responsibility to police its site, not yours. Besides, it's not like he is trying to screw anyone. He simply posted an upper, and you fucked his auction for him. Think about it, do you really care that he is selling his upper on Ebay? What difference does it make to you? Some people have too much time on their hands... |
Have you posted, for us to see, YOUR initial e-mail that started all this? You really shouldnt be giving anyone who sells gun parts legally on e-bay a hard time. Maybe an apology from you is in order. |
GEEEEEEEEEEEEZUS CHRIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DO YOU FUCKING MORONS EVER READ?????????????????????????????????? MOTHER FUCKER. LOOK AT THE ORIGINAL POST DUMBASSES. STOP TRYING TO BE THE FIRST ONE WITH A DO GOODER HOLIER THAN THOU POST AND READ THE FUCKING THREAD BEFORE YOU GIVE YOUR LAME ASS OPINION. BRAINLESS SHEEP ASS BITCHES.

Why is it when I posted this over the weekend, right after I found it, that 2, count 'em 2, moderators were all over my shit telling me to mind my own business? I was quickly corrected that it was a Pre-ban, since it has/had a threaded muzzle, with a non-permanent flash hider.
What's the deal mods? I get crap, and no one else does over the SAME thing!? I'll post my original thread in a minute. Edited to add: www.weaponforums.com/forums/topic.html?b=1&f=5&t=280696 My thread from this weekend. |
I'd forward the threat letters to ebay. They'll just cancel his account and that's that.
I have mixed feelings about this. Granted, the guy's a real cocksucker. But he's also violating a bad law that I believe should be routinely violated, ignored, and disrespected just on principle. If EVERYBODY did it, it'd make a total mockery of the law and the system that made it, and I agree with that concept. Bad laws....there oughta be a law against them! CJ |
Tell us how you REALLY feel?? |
Lots of pre-bans come from factory without lugs!!!! Really a non-issue! Bob |
hmmmm....I'll +1 on no good deed goes unpunished for $1000 Alex

Wow,
This is something I never expected to see here! In the past I've seen friendly warnings ( here on this site! )that just maybe it wasn't such a good idea to post such and such because it was banned or whatever. Seems that is all someone did was to warn someone because maybe they were new and didn't know the rules on e-bay. So does this mean if I'm ignorant and someone clues me in I have the right to threaten them? Does it mean even if I allready knew and was just trying to slip it in that I again have the right to threaten someone for trying to be helpfull enough to point it out? Maybe it means all the friendly warnings I've seen on this very site gives the warned the right to threaten another? Lets get real here and think about what was done. What was done was done to be helpfull and not anything else yet it was not only met with threats from a very unbalanced and most likely out to lunch character but it is also being given it wasn't your business here. What was done wasn't deserving of threats or some of the comments I've seen even on this site I had my Dad sign up to this site because I'm on here looking for stuff and information all the time, My Mom don't let me on this site when I go home to her and for me it's a privledge my Dad lets me have because he thinks this is a good site because I told him it was and he trusts me and trusted what he saw here for the last 8 months.( my online activity is monitored for me to be safe ). Why isn't everyone seeing the whole picture and sticking up for the one that was threatened for trying to help? Just a view from a 14 year old GIRL and I thought some of my girl friends could be childish Kristina |

"Bidding has ended for this item
The seller ended this listing early because of an error in the minimum bid or Reserve amount." End of story. |

Welcome to this site and the innerworking of what men are really like. |
kris, I too am new to this site though i lurked here for awhile before I registered. One thing that you will learn is that in the process of being helpful sometimes members of this site can be rough. What that ebay idiot did was wrong in the third degree. What the members are doing here isnt exactly wrong. Some hold the opinion that Dukota should have minded his own business but they are not criticizing him personally. Sometimes men get in heated arguments over nothing only to step away in the end like nothing was wrong. Mostly ar15.com is a family oriented site as I have found out as well. But as it is inhabited mainly by us men sometimes things can get a little out of hand. If your parents are in doubt of whether or not you should read this site all they can do is read it. All topics of an improper nature are marked as such, there is no porn allowed anywhere on the site and as for the worst arguments that get really childish you can find those in the bearpit. As general discussion is so 'general' and seems to be news central sometimes it can seem like an old west saloon but looks can be deceiving. All is meant for fun and the education of others though tempers flare at weird times for no reason at all (its a guy thing) As a new guy myself I welcome you to the site. enjoy your stay. |
I, too, fail to understand why Dukota felt it necessary to police this guy's auction. I've bought lots of things off eBay that were in violation of their stupid anti-gun rules, and patted myself on the back whenever I did. (Who here remembers when "7 inch" AR mags were routinely advertised on eBay?)
Having said that, once the seller received Dukota's unsolicited, but nonetheless polite and I suppose well-intentioned "tip," I would have expected him to say something like, "Thanks for pointing that out." and continue to run his ad. Once he proved himself to be a real asshat, well, then all bets are off. The season on asshats is year-round, and there's no bag limit. Scott P.S. It's a week now since I paid my membership dues. Where's the love? |
I dont think he meant any harm. A curt response was all that was required. But the auction guy went out of bounds with his reply. He could have just said mind your own business. Its like the guys on EE that tell people that their price is out of line. What does it matter to you. If you dont like the price then dont buy.
You are doing great! It takes adult thinking to be objective and people don't always agree about what reality is. Read the posts and make up your own mind about what YOU think is right. |
I agree with this. I would like to have seen the original email that Dukota sent. One thing that Dukota(and obviously a lot of other people on here) don't realize, is that a simple email like Dukota says that he sent is exactly the type of email someone sends you when they rat you out on ebay. I guess they do it just to be an ass, but I have recieved these same types of emails just before an auction was closed. Also, does anyone else notice that when one of these are posted on here, that they are canceled soon after? Coincidence? I think not. Whoever said that we are our own worst enemy was exactly right. |
Who me? BTW I stopped at "work" and you weren't there. Maybe next time. |
Funny, Sent this guy an E-mail during the fun asking if he was stupid or just f-ing stupid to pick a fight and send out a threat via E-mail...
Guess what, now I got some love letters from this idiot reporting me to EBAY for abuse... I had quoted the origional text that was posted before so at worst EBAY is going to see what stupid had posted... very funny that he didn't decide to drop it! Now I have his e-mail address Following is the E-mail he forwarded to EBAY...
