Boland has it right - I have no axe to grind with anyone here, even those who post some of the more disgusting stuff. But this can't look good from the outside looking in.  Sometimes I really wish AK47.net hadn't died so some of these people wouldn't feel the need to hang around here uploading their fantasies.

Just because they post here does not mean they are gun owners.  Also, those select few do tend to stand out more than everybody else.  Attention, good or bad, is what they crave.  What they need is a life.

Boland, you are completely correct, but short of the mark.  It isn't just that the Anti's will win, it's that the American society will collapse.

Civilization is a cooperative effort.  A society is a group of individuals in which everybody (or at least the vast majority) agrees on a system of ethics and morals.  They all agree on what is "right" and what is "wrong", whether those beliefs encompass individual freedom or cannibalism.  These beliefs can change over time without destroying the society as a whole, but you can't change too many things at once without doing so.  

America is no longer a society.  It's a group of individuals living in a general geographic area.  There is no longer a vast majority with a common set of rules.  Nothing is "wrong".  Nothing is "right".  This isn't generally true - it doesn't have to be.  Most people still have a generally agreed upon system of morals and ethics.  However, there is some point at which the minority is big enough to have the power to destroy the civilization that supports it.  

It used to be that civilizations collapsed when the barbarians came over the protective walls.  In our case, the barbarians are already inside the walls.  The barbarians are us.

You know why the anti's will win? Because you people are so damned paranoid about becoming part of the global community and continually badmouth the humanitarian UN. They are holding a gun rights conference in July and supporting that would be a good start.

Besides the porno freaks (I agree with you on that), the ranks of gun owners are filled with closet liberal/nazi's, [I]plus most gun owners don’t know who the enemy truly is[/I]!  The erosion of decency and the twisting of what’s right and wrong is responsible.  Gun owners believe they have their rights, but quite a few of those people have adopted the liberal way, and live those liberal principals all the while screaming for freedom to own firearms.  Ignorant Hypocrite’s who want their cake and eat it too.  [grenade]


They want their freedom but they are not willing to act like a responsible gun owner.  Owning a gun DEMANDS personal responsibility, not just knowing where not to point a loaded gun, but how you present yourself and how you act.  A line has to be drawn somewhere, and I believe the line should be drawn at such indecent things (porno, etc), but doing that nowadays is character assassination.  Use to be those things were a no-no and socially unacceptable, but thank the liberals for the erasing of boundaries.  Because of that an individual is free to do anything they wish under the politically correct (a liberal invention) guise of “don’t judge me!”
