If I cut the cat converter off my car to get better gas mileage I cannot renew my registration and cannot legally drive while these asshats don't even bother. If I water my lawn on an 'off day' I'll get fined but no one seems to care that these asshats break the law every single day by just being here. If I get caught driving wihtout insurance.... I'll cut it out ow, but you get my point.

This doesn't have anything to do with race so don't even go there. Just a pissed off guy trying to stay out of trouble, pay my bills, and live my life while others aren't kept to the same rules.

Why are people assuming this guy is illegal? Many of you don't seem to realize that there are MANY U.S. citizens who do not speak english. You don't even need to go to Florida, California, Texas or New Mexico to find them. I've seen many instances in Chicago of people that were citizens but could not speak english (inlcuding Koreans, Chinese, Hispanics, etc.)

I'm guessing he WILL be deported if he's illegal - wouldn't the po-po realize it if he is, when they try to book him or to charge him with something?

[rant]Shoot, when I worked as a security officer I responded to a traffic accident on the property and wouldn't you just know it..... the guy who caused the accident was an illegal alien and had no car insurance, no license, hell the car wasnt even registered in his name. So i proceeded to call the county police out to my location and they didnt do SHIT!!!! I mean WTF?? Here you have some shitstain that isnt even in the country legally causing an accident, therefore jacking up our insurance rates and the police officer doesnt do jack!!! I really hate to disagree with you DK because I do respect you based on your posts, so this isn't a bash on you. But you are wrong. The local police departments don't have the resources to handle illegals and recieve absolutely no assistance from the INS or border patrol when they are notified that an illegal is in custody. Illegals more often than not get away with murder, either running away, using false identification, or from a system that isn't designed to handle the situation.

They (illegals) have no accountability, no responsibility, and no repercussions.

This does not apply to the honorable law abiding people who use legal means and channels to live here.

Nice work! The witnesses, especially the guy who has your back, are key to this mess not getting worse legally. I'm not sure if you got a few people's information in the heat of the moment, or if the cops did, but you handled it well. You got out, confronted him, were willing to explain why he had to wait and he took a swing at you. Good thing you were able to control yourself after 4 punches, you definitely didn't want to cause perm damage to this guy and be at risk for legal action.

Guys, just because someone says they cant speak english doesnt mean it's true. Shit, my friends and I say it all the time to get out of projects at work!

Not speaking English is also not a crime in this country last I checked and odds are he wasn't an illegal, just an asshole trying to get away with not waiting. Remember, it's hard to deport an American, even one of Spanish heritage... so try not to be so ignorant.

As stupid as this sounds, I seen a couple of people have advised to *try* to give the money back? I would contact the police and tell them that you filled up without thinking, on his dime and that you wish to make restitution... they will do nothing, but your comments are noted.

here's why, as shitty as some lawyers are (and I have seen worse than this idea, trust me) his free lawyer will say that you were trying to take his credit card so he fought back... they will get his billing statement and match it the security video from the station and prove you used his card to fill up your vehicle... from there on it goes downhill.

Like I said, sounds crazy, but I have seen people get railroaded far worse than this...

Thanks Hawkeye! My wife and I are contemplating driving up to ur friends house in Polk county. This makes the third 'Cane they'll get smacked by. I'm not sure it's a good idea to drive the Jeep north on the T-pike with a hardtop.
