Looks like an M1/M14 in a weird stock.  I agree with Armalite fan, planet of the apes.

Yep.  I just rented that movie because I wanted to see the original before the new 2001 version comes out.  When I saw the ape guns, I was saying "hmmm, I'd like to shoot one of those".   Apparently they were all just props for the movie, but it seems like you might be able to make one out of a Mini-14 or M1A action.

Planet of the Apes prop based on the M-1 carbine. This one was easier than, "who's buried in Grants Tomb?" Must be freebie day for all us dummies.
